Futur-mafa-rama! Day: The First!
« on: June 17, 2007, 07:32:35 PM »
"Papa, tell me a bed time story!"
"No problem, mon fils. Rest your head and listen to my tale. It is a tale of intrigue, violence, distrust and parchance more violence.

It all started the day the brains returned to Earth."

"Fry! Wake up! The brains have come back!" Shouted Nibbler, to a half naked Fry snoozing on the hood of the planet express ship.
"Huh? What?" Replied the weary Fry.
After having the situation explained to him 3 times, Fry sought help from the professor. . .
"Good news, everyone! I've invented a way to kill all the brains and keep the rest of us alive. It's a dooms day device of sorts." Said the professor.
The professor unveiled his newest invention. Mean while, Bender asked where's Hermies was, and then volunteered to search the ship, where Hermies had been seen taking a nap. He quickly escaped, laughing with a big cigar in his metallic, robot mouth.
"Oh crap, we should've seen this one coming," groaned Leela.
"Anyhoo, we should be safe as long as the brains don't burst in right this second while my machine is charging."
Just then, the gang all turned their heads as an explosion had blown down the front door.
"I am a gigantic brain!" boasted the Big Brain as he floated in with his hechmen. Just then, Doop commander, Zap Branigan came in and started blasting.
"I sensed Leela was in danger, so I had Kiff fly the ship down here right away. I aimed the ship down straight for where the brains were gathered, killing all but these four."
"Aww geeze," groaned Leela. . .again.
Just then, the brain ordered his henchmen to kill them, Amy, Scruffy and Kiff were gone in an instant. Naturally, Zap cried like a baby while the rest remained horrified, except the professor, who was eerily excited. . .
"Ah! Finally, my machine is ready!" He shouted.
He flipped the switched, turned two knobs, flipped another switch and pressed the big red button.
"Ah, that's the start."
There was a huge flash. Everyone in the room was transformed in to similar looking French people. The professor's invention had failed, like so many before. Unknowing how to figure out who was a brain and who wasn't, the group decided to settle this the old fashioned way: They'd decide on who to kill each night and using the professor's kill-a-motron, kill them. The brains found themselves able to telepathically communicate with each other, yet unable to simply kill them all. They would try again that night.
"Wait, this is stupid." Said 'Leela'
"Oh wait, no! It'll be like a game." Interrupted Fry.
"Apparently my machine seemed to have transformed out world in to some sort of mafia game, as Fry said. And it won't turn the world back until the game is over." Explained 'the professor.'

"Oh, papa! This story, c'est magnifique! Mais, what happens next?"
"Ah, mon fils, le premiere jour, etait comme ca:"

That's the narrative; it's a little weak, but I don't expect you read it. It gets a little worse towards the middle end part. But anyway, voting ends at midnight central. I would like the night actions about an hour after that. Have fun!

It's fine. Writing a story for a mafia game is the most challenging thing to do.

Well, I'm just going to make this fast. I'm going to appeal to the doctor to protect me for the night. I know that I always seem to have suspicion around me but it's a good move because it will thwart the mafia. Rather than waste your ability for the night, please, take the chance on me.

Second, un-vote stevey. I don't have any hard evidence to for this vote. It just seemed right and that feeling has been a big help to me before. Alright. That should do it for me.

Hmm a Freudian slip perhaps? A doctor protection on day 1 would most likely be similar in reasoning to the first day vote-- a complete shot in the dark.

We shall support vigorously the principle that no country has the right to impose its will or rule on another by force. We shall continue, in this era of negotiation, to work for the limitation of nuclear arms, and to reduce the danger of confrontation between the great powers. We shall do our share in defending peace and freedom in the world. But we shall expect others to do their share.

Un-Vote Khush

Changed...but perhaps Khush needs to be given a break.  Why does everyone want him dead...geez let him play past one day.  If not.  Sorry Khush that a single post you create means you will be targeted.

Vote Athrun Zala

I don't want to join a band wagon, but also don't just want to throw a vote to a random person...so I will trust someone else intuition for one vote.

That was a mistake but it was not a Fruedian slip. I know doctor protection on day is a shot in the dark but I feel it's worth it for the doctor to take a chance on me. It's early in the game and there's not much I can do right now. I encourage the doctor to use his ability anyways even if it is a guess. It's amazing how doing so could influence the game. After hosting the last game, I've seen the power of using one's role as much as possible even if it's just a guess.

And to the others voting for me, whatever. I think I've proven game in and game out that I'm worth keeping around for a few days. The mafia members I've targetted and killed has shown that I'm valuable to the townies. Frankly, you're only hurting yourself.

People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. I've earned everything I've got.

I recognize that this additional material I am now furnishing may further damage my case. One game I did receive information in a PM from a player who was not actually a mafia member.

Oh, what trouble this mafia is!  I normally wouldn't bother with these peasants, I'm too good for that, but I must say, I don't want to lose my thought, so I suppose we should lynch someone other than myself.  I'd vote out Nixon, but I have to say that actual important people have to stick together.  Verily, I must abhor you to un-Vote Stevey.  It's not like his existence helps me in any way, so I say he should be the first to be lynched.

Just a little clarification on the doctor role: The doctor's protection counts as a night action. Thusly, the person who the doctor decides to protect will be protected from a mafia hit that night and the next day's vote.

So does this mean that if someone is protected tonight we'll find out in the story so we don't bother wasting our votes on them tomorrow?  If not, does the person with the second most votes automatically get voted off, or will no one be voted off that day? Also, can the doctor protect himself?

Hmm.. Im not gonna vote right now, maybe later.  The thing about khush is that if he is indeed on our side, then it would be a huge mistake to vote him out on the first day, but if he is not on our side then voting him off would be a blessing, I'd like to wait a little longer and gather some more evidence before making that kind of a gamble.  I'll be checking in later tonight.
