"Papa, tell me a bed time story!"
"No problem, mon fils. Rest your head and listen to my tale. It is a tale of intrigue, violence, distrust and parchance more violence.
It all started the day the brains returned to Earth."
"Fry! Wake up! The brains have come back!" Shouted Nibbler, to a half naked Fry snoozing on the hood of the planet express ship.
"Huh? What?" Replied the weary Fry.
After having the situation explained to him 3 times, Fry sought help from the professor. . .
"Good news, everyone! I've invented a way to kill all the brains and keep the rest of us alive. It's a dooms day device of sorts." Said the professor.
The professor unveiled his newest invention. Mean while, Bender asked where's Hermies was, and then volunteered to search the ship, where Hermies had been seen taking a nap. He quickly escaped, laughing with a big cigar in his metallic, robot mouth.
"Oh crap, we should've seen this one coming," groaned Leela.
"Anyhoo, we should be safe as long as the brains don't burst in right this second while my machine is charging."
Just then, the gang all turned their heads as an explosion had blown down the front door.
"I am a gigantic brain!" boasted the Big Brain as he floated in with his hechmen. Just then, Doop commander, Zap Branigan came in and started blasting.
"I sensed Leela was in danger, so I had Kiff fly the ship down here right away. I aimed the ship down straight for where the brains were gathered, killing all but these four."
"Aww geeze," groaned Leela. . .again.
Just then, the brain ordered his henchmen to kill them, Amy, Scruffy and Kiff were gone in an instant. Naturally, Zap cried like a baby while the rest remained horrified, except the professor, who was eerily excited. . .
"Ah! Finally, my machine is ready!" He shouted.
He flipped the switched, turned two knobs, flipped another switch and pressed the big red button.
"Ah, that's the start."
There was a huge flash. Everyone in the room was transformed in to similar looking French people. The professor's invention had failed, like so many before. Unknowing how to figure out who was a brain and who wasn't, the group decided to settle this the old fashioned way: They'd decide on who to kill each night and using the professor's kill-a-motron, kill them. The brains found themselves able to telepathically communicate with each other, yet unable to simply kill them all. They would try again that night.
"Wait, this is stupid." Said 'Leela'
"Oh wait, no! It'll be like a game." Interrupted Fry.
"Apparently my machine seemed to have transformed out world in to some sort of mafia game, as Fry said. And it won't turn the world back until the game is over." Explained 'the professor.'
"Oh, papa! This story, c'est magnifique! Mais, what happens next?"
"Ah, mon fils, le premiere jour, etait comme ca:"
