We realized after last week's (monstrous) episode that we might be pushing the running time a bit too far with episodes that exceed an hour, especially episodes that get close to 90 minutes. So we cut the fat for this week's iteration, including the death of Whatcha Been Playin' (in favor of the very-sexy "New Business"), as well as cutting an entire co-host (only three voices this time).

Still, at 45 minutes, there's a lot to enjoy here, from the first ever discussion of Nintendo World Report's Hot Topic to the news about four different Smash Bros. control schemes, and even a teaser about what to expect next week (hint: it will be good times).

As always, please remember to Digg Radio Free Nintendo (via the link above), subscribe to and review us on iTunes, and send in listener mail. Thanks, guys! Come back next week!

This podcast felt a little rushed, but I always liked the longer episodes. Perhaps one hour is the porridge that's just right?

Your not interviewing Perrin Kaplan are you?

On a more serious note, the increased focus is great. There was nothing wrong with what your playing, it was just that you were playing the same thing week after week. You can bring it back in under the New Business format, but limit your-self's a bit more. Leave the insane rants for (the now dead?) Nintendo pirate radio.

It did feel a bit short as in you left me wanting more, but 45 - 60 minutes seems to be where the mark is at unless it is really funny,

If you interview Perrin you HAVE to send her our love! OUR LOVE! And how DISTRAUGHT WE ARE! DISTRAUGHT Why oh why is she leaving us? We'll be lost without her to run circles around Billy in interviews, to muss up Matt Cassamassina's hair, and to say the things we don't want to hear said!

The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Last week the podcasters couldn't beat Actraiser and something else that I can't remember, and now you're calling using the C-stick in Smash an exploit? Lololol, keep scrubbing it up nubs.

I think C-Stick in Smash Bros. IS a noob tactic but that's just me. It never really bothered me too much though. Can't wait for Brawl . . . can't wait.

For the record, I don't think C-Sticking is an exploit. I think it's a bit cheap, but definitely not an exploit.

As for the podcast's length, I really think having it between 45 minutes and an hour is the sweet spot, and it's what we'll be aiming for from now on. This summer will be host to a lot of tweaks to RFN. This week's changes were definitely for the better, I think (replacing Whatcha Been Playing, Mike has a headset now, etc), and hopefully, by August, the quality level will be much higher.

The C-Stick sucks.  Ty's crazy. omg top tieirrr!

I wish I was on to converse about the controls.  I'm convinced that the sideways Wii remote is going to have Smash attacks so simplified that that is the control mode that will be banned from competition.  It's just going to be, push the attack button while shaking the remote in some random way.

C-stick = Mario Kart DS Snaking ?

Come to think of it, game "exploits" may be a good Hot Pocket Topic.

If you interview Perrin Kaplan, I will write or help write a song parody for Johnny to sing to here near the end of the interview.  I'm thinking it should be based off of the song My Kind of Town, so as to match the circumstances of her leaving.  I'm not kidding about this, either.

That was an awesome podcast, just about the right length.
You should do more commercials like the first, it was funny.

If you only use C-stick attacks, you'll probably lose against someone good. And if you lose to someone that only uses C-stick attacks, that means you're terrible at Smash Bros.

I'm hoping to be on next weeks episode as well so we can argue about the C-Stick some more.  It'll be great.

I like this abbreviated format.  Things flow much quicker and there's no dead time.  Bravo!

I'd like to ask Jonny for some clarification.  He stated that the 360 is currently receiving a steady stream of at least one big title per month.  Come again?  Forza came out end of last month.  I guess you could count Guitar Hero II and Spider-Man, even though one is a port of a PS2 game and the other one sucked.  Has anything else significant come out since Gears of War/Crackdown?  It anything significant going to come out before Halo 3?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
