Help Find a Wii thread
« on: May 21, 2007, 11:01:25 AM »
So I am finally done with another year of college, and finally have enough loot to buy a Nintendo Wii. The only problem is: I can't find one.

Do you guys know what I should do to finally get one of these bastards into my house?

Seduce Smash_Brother.

Seriously, ask him about what he did.  That should help.

Start with iTrackr. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend calling all of the local Wal-Marts and Targets in your area and ask if they'll be having a sunday relaunch. They typically will.

My GF works at Gamestop and she tells me that it's taking 1-2 days now before the Wii stock gets cleaned out AND that they're receiving them weekly now. Thus, your chances should be getting better all the time.

If you want, I can call you when we get some in.

How far away are you from Carmi, Il?

About 5 hours.

As thoughtful as the offer is, I wouldn't drive that far just for a Wii. With gas prices at tree-fifty, I'm not trying to drive anywhere.

i hear going to Sears can be a good find, since almost nobody would think to go there.  Actually i heard a Gamestop employee say that, oh and just 2 days ago I walked into a EBgames store (friend made me) and we noticed some lady purchasing one.  So yeah your not doomed, good luck man.

Pay attention to the Sunday circular! If they advertise (front page or otherwise), that retailer is absolutely getting some that week. They'll usually go on sale on that Sunday, but not always. They might come in the middle of the week. Trust me, I worked at Targer not too long ago. I quit because it sucked, but believe me. Also, from my experience, Target only gets shipments above 15 whereas Toys R US and Walmart will take whatever Nintendo can spare them which can be as low as 6 or 7 consoles. That said, Target doesn't seem to get Wii shipments as frequently, but when they do, they're typically larger than other retailers. Bear in mind that I'm only speaking of stores in my area so it might be different elsewhere though I assume it's all the same.

Still, Nintendo apparently ramped up Wii production in April so I would expect Wii to be more available soon.

Circuit City has Wii units this Sunday morning.

Vouchers will be handed out 1 hour prior to store opening.

You will be surprised of what in store for you when you visit this site, SmartRatings.com. Aside from the reviews, you will see a number of merchants selling Wii online. I cannot say anything more because I am so excited telling you this. Hope this helps. Good luck.
