Well that would be just stupid. Are they just giving the main character a new skin then? Why don't they really dig deep and starting porting old PS1 games to the Wii?

I hear Yoshi's Safari is a fun game though!

It is. I don't know WHAT Adrock is talking about. Yoshi's Safari and the Battle Clash games are ALL on my VC dream list.

My point is that Tecmo should just make a NEW game. Don't focus too much on the Yoshi's Safari reference, I needed to use a commercially unsuccessful game for comparison's sake.

Oh, ok.Yeah, I pretty much have a burning hatred for Tecmo if this turns out the way it's turning out. I might give the game a try since I haven't played it before, but ... *BURNING HATRED*

GoNintendo has scans that show a different game. http://gonintendo.com/?p=21162

IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE GONNA BE OKAY PEOPLE

edit: MAYBE NOT.

Destructoid is saying PS2 port with extras. No official source though, so who knows? http://www.destructoid.com/rygar-on-the-wii-a-souped-up-ps2-port--35049.phtml#comments

This is all Twilight Princess' fault.

Nintendo showed it was OK,
Capcom followed suit with RE4,
now Tecmo is set for $$$$$$$$$$$$$ SUCCESSSS

If the game turns out to look good and play fine, I don't see what the problem is, I will get for sure.

My thoughts exactly. If the game is good; play it, if the game is bad; do not play it. I loved RE4 Wii, and that was just a port of GCN/PS2 game. If you all hate the idea of a port so bad then do not buy them and maybe it will send a message of no more ports.

By the way, while I feel Yoshi's Safari was just kind of meh, BattleClash and Metal Combat are awesome games. Mike Anderson and/or the ST Falcon for Brawl (as  either characters or ATs)!

Because, silly, everyone knows that the Wii is for third parties to dump lazy crap.  You didn't think the Wii was going to get REAL third party support, did you?

I can never tell if Pro666 is being sarcastic or not but Nintendo did start the trend.

I wouldn't mind except I already played Rygar on PS2 and it was okay-ish. A weaker Devil may cry.

I liked Rygar. I played it a lot. But that's the point: I PLAYED IT A LOT ALREADY.

Seriously, we can't keep justifying ports with "Well, the original was GOOD". That just tells developers to KEEP making them. Good or not, the Wii needs to stop getting so many ports.

The idea of rygar wii is full of promise. But it needs to be built from the ground up for the wii, maye even turned into a 1st person perspective.
These screens are ugly, rygar doesn't have to look as good as ninja gaiden ps3, but it should look at least as good as ninja giaden xbox. I can't help but think it will tank, wich is a shame because rygar could be really, really great.

1up did an interview with the developer. To sum it up: Most of the development went toward perfecting the Wii controls, they've also fixed some issues with the types of enemies that people had with the original, the developer says he would love to do a full sequel for the Wii if this is successful.

In other words, they weren't allowed the budget for a brand new game.

Well, after watching the Trailer... I guess I'll give this game a chance.

If they had the nice budget, it'd be a PS3 game.

If this sells well, it'll fund a nice PS3 game.
