Saw this at GoNintendo:
It all started with this little image, showing the games that will make up the Fabula Nova Crystallis series for the Final Fantasy XIII games.
http://gonintendo.com/?p=16343#commentsThis is where things get interesting. There are two circles that represent the two PS3 games, one that represents the mobile game, a somewhat smaller blank circle by itself, and
two blank circles, one large and one noticeably smaller, grouped together and separated from the rest. Obviously, these blank circles represent new games that are going to be a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe, but the two blank circles are the most interesting. It is being speculated that the two grouped together represent a console game (larger circle) and a handheld counterpart (smaller circle).
My guess is that it's a Wii game, and the smaller circle is the DS. It COULD be the PS3 and PSP (considering the rest of the series is on PS3 and they probably wouldn't want to stretch their market, and they have yet to REALLY support the PSP), but I doubt it. Square-Enix is definitely noticing how much the Wii is selling, and how relatively cheaper it would be to develop for it. That, and they are absolutely in love with the DS, have been supporting it like crazy, have been getting mad Nintendo love for supporting it as they have, and probably won't stop anytime soon. Square-Enix is also smart enough to know that the Wii has yet to have a traditional, bread-and-butter JRPG announced for it, and that they'd absolutely
clean house if the first was a Final Fantasy game.
Microsoft is out of the running for the simple fact that it doesn't have a handheld counterpart, and you can tell by the size and formation of the circles that that's what it's most likely going to be.
Granted, this is all crazy speculation, but I think it's safe to say that I would have a spontaneous orgasm if any game from the Final Fantasy XIII series came to the Wii (as long as it's a similar RPG, and not some weird fighting game/tactics spinoff).
Any thoughts?
