The game based on the Disney/Pixar movie will hit three Nintendo platforms this fall.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced plans to bring a new video game based on the highly successful Disney-Pixar’s Cars film to retail this fall. Cars Mater-National is scheduled to ship for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Wii™ video game console, Nintendo DS™ and Game Boy® Advance.    


THQ’s relationship with Disney-Pixar has resulted in more than 30 million units shipped worldwide. Last year’s Cars was the fastest selling Disney-Pixar video game to date, with more than seven million units shipped worldwide. In addition to being the no. 1 selling kids video game brand, it was also the overall number two best-selling video game for 2006.    


Cars Mater-National will offer fans of the film a fresh adventure set in the super-fueled world of Radiator Springs. The video game will feature all-new international characters vying for their chance to compete against Lightning McQueen in the First Annual Mater-National Race Festival. Players will explore the new and improved open world of Radiator Springs, complete with new tracks, mini-games and more than 10 multiplayer games.
