I had no idea the characters existed outside of the game. But now I have chosen a different game from the 8-bit era. It is also another game I would like to see come to the VC at some point.

p.s. I edited the photo a little .

I like mine the best, well really she is all I had to chose from. Not many strong female characters in 8bit games, the Dark Queen was about it!

Well I'd think Peach and Samus would be considered pretty prevalent and cannot be used for this.

A Rare game may be a bit too mainstream, too but considering this is only semi-obscure character month, not fully obscure it's acceptable. Though I think the Giana Sisters are quite obscure.

pap, that was  video game character?

bnm2k1, Little Nemo was based on a comic strip, the movie came out *after* the game so it counts your good. Plus if you have played the game and watched the movie, I have both and love them both, you would know that they have major differences.

By the time I come up with a character, it will be April.

Ceric: I failed to get Plan 9 going on my system last time I tried. I simply must get it running some time!
Thanks for listening.

The movie came out in 1989, as was mentioned previously in this thread, the game was released by Capcom in 1990 in the US and Japan... so I'm afraid that's incorrect.

Arbok has the right idea.

Technically, the Noid was a corporate mascot, but I am sure that the game itself is very obscure.

I used to play it all the time as a kid. It was hard, but I always had fun (especially with the pizza challenges at the end of the stages).

Without the Noid game, there would be no Pizza Hut signs in TMNT the arcade game...and there would be no Sneak King.

That explains a lot, I worked at Dominos for a long time and there was some old stuff in the back with that guys picture on it, but noone knew what he was. They must not use him any more.

The Noid game was originally (read: in the japanese version) a game about Ninjas and the pizza eating contests were Ninja power duels.

A title change to the person who can name the game he came from.

That would be "SkyKid" for the NES.

That's Baron from Sky Kid. Max was the blue one, right? Trivia: the music from Sky Kid is part of a medley in Taiko no Tatsujin
