Like I said, I'll stick with the much more competent PC sims for my designing needs. Not to mention I have little to no trust in Sony to put out either thing that will live up to expectations.

It will probably be a big hit with some people, but I can't see it is a major system seller. The consensus seems to be that this is similar to Second Life in many ways--a game which I have not played. That is hardly worth a $600 purchase. Still, I'm sure people who already own or plan to buy a PS3 will enjoy this, so that's good.

I personally think it looks rather bland. I only looked at some screen shots, but it doesn't compel me to play it. Same story with Second Life, The Sims, or any other virtual hub or life simulation games. Hopefully, Nintendo will put a lot of community aspects into Animal Crossing because I see that as being a more interesting game. Although Nintendo's online policies would probably prevent anything like this from reaching the Wii.

I found one quote rather interesting from the Games Radar page.
Quote

...the Home Theater [is] a public spot that displays video files on massive screens, in full 3D theaters, and aims to add a social aspect to watching movies online.

How many people would pay to watch movies on the PS3? Do you pay per-showing? Exactly how "public" are we talking here?

I assume that one can not share their own movies with others (the MPAA would flip). So you pay to watch a movie and in the middle of it you get chat bubbles popping up saying "lame", "I think I know what will happen next!", and "hawt". I am not a movie person at all, but that seems like a sub-optimal way to enjoy a film.
Thanks for listening.

Yeah you're not actually veiwing the movie like you noramlly would but say, the movie is playing on the tv in your home, which means you can walk around and not veiw it if you like. Clever technology but ultimately completely pointless.

While watching Attack of The Show today on G4, I noticed on the feed ticker on the bottom of the screen that whoever is the head of SCEA said that Sony is willing to change to SIXAXIS controller to more suit the needs of the American gamer...

Interesting comment, of course they mentioned that Sony settled it's suit with Immersion and that the change will likely be rumble in the controller.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

I think that LittleBigPlanet looks to be a pretty fun game overall. Does it look as fun as, say, a Mario platformer to me? No, but the physics of the game make it feel a lot more lively than traditional platformers. The graphics definitely are good looking. If it was on Wii, I would buy it. Unfortunately, the PS3 price tag almost makes it intangible for me. With the Xbox 360, if I see a good game for the system, I would actually consider buying a system some day. With the PS3, the thought doesn't enter my mind. The price is so unrealistic that I don't even consider a purchase. Even if I did have a job, the price would be a major deterrent.

Moral of the story? Expensive consoles mean less buyers, which ultimately means the hard work of game developers reaches a smaller audience. It is a lose-lose situation.

Home strikes me as a good idea.  It may be copied from various other ideas, but it's still a smart combination of the bunch.  At least it looks that way.  The art design is not something I'm crazy about, but it's probably tuned properly to the Sony crowd: for them, Miis look "bad", unrealistic. They need to be convinced they're getting their graphical money's worth.

LittleBigPoop looks really neat!

I have come up with the best way for MS and Nintendo to combat this Home thing

Behold!

With XNA on the Xbox360 and the Wii with its SD Card suport users could make their own items on their computer and then upload them right into the game. Or they could even buid stuff right there. Since Second Life is all done server side there is no need for a HDD.

Sony's back everyone! Gundam for PS3 is #1 in Japan, not only that, but it's also the ONLY PS3 game in the entire top 50! Go Sony!

You know, I'm a bit confused, people (Oh like maybe Pittbboi) complain about Wii being casual and a non-gamer system, yet they go crazy over something like home or Littlebigtown which would fall under casual or or non-games!

We didn't get a Boxed version over here in the US. At least not one that I'm aware of. Second Life has always just been a version you can download free off their site.

What? Why even bring me up?

1) I don't complain about the Wii being a casual and non-gamer system. I don't care who else they try to appeal to as long as they don't forget about gamers in the process.

2) When did I ever go crazy over Home? It doesn't even appeal to me, but that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge it.

3) LittleBigPlanet is a non-game? That's funny, it looked like a 2D platformer to me.
