I guess its time for people to really load up on thos SD cards since the popular Neo Geo games take up quite a bit of space especially once you add in the built-in emulator.

Neo-Geo = good.

MSX, still won't see any of these games outside of Japan.

On a side note, Microsoft was involved with the MSX.
It created the version of Basic that ran on it.

capamerica has been predicting that this would happen for over a year now, and there's recorded proof too.

I hope the games make it to the US. I enjoy the Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters games.

What is MSX? Was that the Sega Master System in Japan?
If Ninty is adding Neogeo support I wonder if Sega Saturn would ever be added?

MSX (MicroSoft eX/Cross) was the name of a standardized home computer architecture in the 1980s. It was a Microsoft-led attempt to create unified standards among hardware makers, conceived by one-time Microsoft Japan executive Kazuhiko Nishi. Despite Microsoft's involvement, MSX-based machines were seldom seen in the United States but were hugely popular in other markets.

Well now it'll be easy to for me to commit to the VC. I have never played a NeoGeo game outside of an Arcade 8n1(or something like that) machine.

Can someone list all the good/great SNK/NeoGeo games, so we have an idea of what we have to look forward too.
All that I can think of:
King of Fighters
Samurai Showdown
Metal Slug

Also in that thread, someone mentioned that VC Japan is getting Actraiser in march. I've played that one before, but I would definately buy that one again as I don't remember ever beating it. And that officially means that S-E is on board with the VC. I wouldn't expect FF games just yet as they aren't done re-making them for GBA/DS and milking as much money as possible out of them yet, but maybe some of their lesser known titles, maybe even all the old DQ/DW games too.

I'd like to say this is a pleasant surprise, but I think I was hoping so hard for this that all I can feel is relief.  A local pizza place had a NeoGeo machine, and I played a lot of games there that I can't even remember the names of.  NOA had better make an announcement soon, because there's no good reason for NeoGeo support not to come to these shores.

If Nintendo doesn't bring these over I may have to import a Wii over just for this.

It should be noted that the biggest NeoGeo game was up to 89.5MB (716 Mebits)
Nintendo really better be planing to unlock the SD card and USB HDD for VC games.

Weren't most NeoGeo games around 512Mb or 64MB? I would hope that they would unlock SD card loading otherwise its gonna become a pain to have to switch games in and out all the time with N64 & NeoGeo games filling up cards pretty quickly. I hope they unlock USB external HDD's soon too. those are bcoming pretty cheap and would be a much better investment than multiple SD cards.

And >here< is a list of the NeoGeo games according to a dedicated fansite.

edit: I really shouldn't sit on a post for so long, there were 4 replies and 10 minutes between when I started this post and actually posted it.

edit 2: I also saw thi in that NeoGAF tread, but did anyone know that C64 is coming to VC too?

Not only is it the best sports game I've ever played but one of the best games period.  I could play this for hours against my brother.  The only problem is as an arcade game it's a little light on options and it's hard to win games against the computer.

Hell yes, I was going to say the exact same thing.  Did the Neo Geo version allow full season play and created teams like the Nintendo console versions?

And Capcom vs SNK?  Yes please.

I suspect 20,000 points for the Neo Geo games...Hey, the actual games were 200 bucks a piece. (Credit goes to SB for coming up with the joke).
