I'm sure all of nintendos multiplayer games make sense.  The one I think would benifit the most is star fox.

Imagine an 8 player team battle where you could recreate the starfox vs starwolf dogfights and also it came with a microphone that automatically changes your voice into the character you chose(an example of this is if you choose peppy and tell one of your team mates to "do a barrell roll" they should hear it exactly how they would in single player).

There could be some good match variety too, you could:

1. fight until only one team lives.

2. make it killcount based.

3. use that countdown timer level in starfox 64 where team fox has to stop the bomb with starwolf attacking them.

4. use that level in starfox64 that copies indenpendence day and the unlimited supply of weak ships that could represent the other team respawning.

This game actually has more potential then just recreating the games past. What if it was setup be like team starfoxes everyday life with tons of created characters. By that I mean the starfox team is a group that does missions for money, what if when you go online with a created character you can choose to fly around the lylat system looking for missions but the only way the computer gives out missions is if they have some other players looking to complete an opposite mission where you would have to fight them. If you are successful you get starfox money that you could use to upgrade you ship or buy a great fox type ship for flying around the system faster or have access to stuff on the planets.

That would be great, I hope they put alot of work into the online mode for starfox.

Take F-Zero GX. Add online up to 4 players via one wii. Add up to 32 players in one race (if the AI can handle up to 28....).

Perfection. This thread is finished kthxbi.

With F-Zero I would settle for graphics and design of F-Zero 64 for 30 players online, and custom track editor...or hell even the random track editor.

I know we will get better than that, but I know I don't want Sega anywhere near it.  I loved the Nintendo 64 version but the Sega game was too difficult and not nearly as enjoyable to play.

I still think Warioware should have an online mode. I'm not saying that they should ditch the existing multiplayer mode. I found that when I rented it, I played it alone alot of the time trying to beat my scores. I wish that I could have played a 2 or more player online mode instead of playing by myself.

That's why online is so important and why I wish Nintendo would get on the bandwagon sooner.

When you don't have friends to play with, roughly half of all Nintendo-made games lose a lot of their appeal, basically any party game they offer. It can't be much of a "party" when you're the only person there.

I'm courious how many players Wii online will support.  I'd be happy with a max of 8.

I'd say 16 for something like halo2, but an 8 vs 8 player match is caotic....plus it can be slow at times

This is actually a very academic subject to me. I can't go online with my Wii. My dorm blocks the ports...

I can only go online whenever I go home to a DSL connection or if I ever bum someone else's DSL connection from within the dorm.

"Online gaming" may very well be out of my reach for the next year and a half.

If the pikmin team improves on pikmin 3 like they did pikmin 2 i'd imagine a 4-player co-op would be possible.

Pikmin was definetly one of my favorite games of last gen, it had a solid single player, and good co-op, and the 2 player versus was actually pretty fun. I can see them making four player co-op, which proabably would involve faster passage of time, and bosses that probably require alot of cordination.

I'd also like to see a Metal Gear solid type of multiplayer, where one player gets to be a bulborb/emperor bulblax, and the other 3 are captains with pikmin hunting him. Somewhat like Snake vs Gaurds multiplayer in Subsistance. I think it'd be fun

I haven't seen Mario Golf or Mario Tennis anywhere in this thread, those are bound to be remade.

MJRx9000:  Good find...or rather good remembering.

Mario Tennis definitely needs to be online...as probably do all the Mario Sports.  Yet, that said IF Mario Golf wasn't online it wouldn't kill the Mario Golf experience.

Speaking of Mario Golf tough, the portable versions of the game have always been pushing the fantasy limits more...and this next incarnation on the console needs to push the Mario universe limits to the fullest.  I want most of the courses to have warp pipes, speed arrows, and much more.  And actual levels to be designed around real Mario universe locations.  A Bowser's Castle course, a Peach Castle's, Yoshi's Island and what not.

Also since we have a cool Mario Soccer game, what should be next?  Mario Hockey, Mario football?

Nintendo First Person Shooter: Most people (including me) believed Metroid Prime 3 would be the game to go online...however it is debatable if this franchise has what it takes to be a great online experience. However, a game that almost everyone agrees would be great online experience is Geist. With work in balancing the system better than the original series, and pushing the ghost elements further you can have a very unique and exciting online experience. But, will this game happen? I think Nintendo realizes the potential of Geist and Battalion Wars even if they didn't sell well...and I believe Nintendo will give both franchises another chance on Wii.

I actually do think the new Geist game will be the first FPS.  Oops, I've said too much.

Hmmm... well I hope N-Space is up to it then... because their last outing was unexciting technically and had a few kinks to work out in game design.

Well accually they do use Gamespy for their online services (At least for their DS game, I don't think they will change it for the Wii.) The Wii shop channel is handled by a differend service Akamai.

EDIT: I guess the quote didn't work... I was answering a question for page 2 that was address, at least I don't think it was.

I think N-Space is completely up for the task.  They just need much more time to flesh out concepts and ideas.

I believe in the Geist project.  The original concept of the game is brilliant, but needs further fleshing out.  The potential for multiplayer is enormous and I really want the project to succeed.  Let's hope for the best.
