Nintendo Updates Japanese Lineup
« on: February 21, 2007, 03:51:18 AM »
Titles include the newly-announced Ouendan 2 and reconfirmation of former GameCube releases.

Nintendo has announced an update to their Japanese lineup featuring several new games such as a sequel to the Elite Beat Agents progenitor, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan as well as Panel de Pon DS.  Additionally, games originally set for a GameCube release, such as DK Bongo Blast and Kirby, have been reconfirmed as Wii releases.

Several games, such as Yoshi's Island DS and Mario vs. DK 2, which have already been released in the US, are coming to Japan within the next two months.  Heavy hitters, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime 3, are still scheduled for release this year.  Super Paper Mario is also given a release date and now includes widescreen support.

OUENDAN TWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I hope its a really improved, updated sequel. As much as I loved Ouendan and EBA, doing the same thing a third time could get tiring...

And does Nintendo expect to release all of those titles in Japan in 2007?!? I will be impressed if they are able to pull it off. But I know some will be delayed till 2008.

Good to see Animal Crossing officially mentioned, even if it is TBA.

And yes, Ouendan 2 is an excellent sign.

I'm trying to figure out how Kirby is a TBA title when it was probably near-complete on Gamecube...They must be completely reworking the game...

Fire Emblem comes out tomorrow?  I had no idea.  Hopefully it will be released in America this summer.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I almost hope that not all those 2007 games come out on time... because then this Holiday season will suck the life out of me and third parties might get screwed over.

It's a shame Animal Crossing wouldn't stand a chance in 07. Project Hammer and Disaster doesn't seem likely either.

Wouldn't EBA 2 make more sense?  I thought Elite Beat Agents did better.

Also on Kirby I just think Nintendo realized they need some space in that lineup.  Smash could show up as the only game in a 3 month period and carry the whole weight.  This lineup looks a lot like taking a bazooka to get a fly.  Sure the fly is dead but so is everything else.

Yeah.  As much as I hate to say it.  I probably push Smash to the beginning of 2008 after the holiday season.  It's a bad time for games but I think if Brawl has the staying power of Melee it won't matter.

I would release Galaxy before Prime 3.  Release Prime 3 Holiday.

Actually there isn't a good fit for a release order of all those games.

I mean 5 are going to have to double up months.  Probably less becaues whatever gets released with Prime, Smash, or Mario is going to get eaten alive.
So giving each one of them months.  Big Brain and Paper Mario is one set.  Now We have 6 uknown months.  Prime, Mario, and Smash should have there own month.  So we are down to 3 for 8 games.  Wii Health could probably go with Prime 3.  So thats 7...  It's just seem like a logistic nightmare for optimum results.  Something is going to lost in the wash.
