Also, what in the blazes is that guy in the background of that black and white photo doing? Is he like sneezing while attempting to devour a whole chicken or something?

Could you write something about Rob Reiner, Svev? What ever happened to that guy? Remember when he used to make good movies?

You're really making this difficult Svevan. Two movies and you haven't seen them. Alright, let's see.

Dr. Zhivago (the one with Omar Shariff)

Sunset Blvd.

Double Indemnity

The Maltese Falcon

The Bridge on the River Kwai

The Manchurian Candidate (Frank Sinatra version)

Paths of Glory

The Big Sleep

and if you're hoping for something recent:

Hotel Rwanda

King Kong (Peter Jackson version)

Cinderella Man

Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly version)

I still can't believe you haven't seen The Great Escape. You'd better fix that oversight. I'd prefer to talk about one of the older films I listed but I guess we could talk about one of the newer movies if need be.

But it's almost 1:00 in the morning where I am and I have to be up by 8:00, so I'm afraid I'll have to continue this discussion right now. However, do not fear that you will be left alone with Svevan and his movie reviews. Just remember: If there's an emergency, just sound the horn of urgency. I'm sure that I or better yet, Bloodworth, will be able to help you out.

Well, so much for that. Thanks for making me stay up late thinking of movies Svevan. So, now, I will take my leave. I just thought I'd quote this again to remind people to check out the link. I think it's hilarious so that has to count for something.

you sir, will be in for a treat. There is only one movie on that list that I have not seen and it is directed by a hack while starring a jerk. So nevermind that one, but look for something...excellent...very soon...

Seconded. That movie was so bloated that it's not even funny. What a waste of a movie ticket.

I blame the rushed post-production. I think it would've been much better if it was released in the summer.

Cinderella man, I presume?

I choose:

Griffon
Grendel
House of the Dead 1 and 2
Street Fighter 2
Sasquatch

If you don't critique 2 of these movies I declare this thread null and void!

Don't fall for this trick people. That could apply to all those movies I listed. Well, except for Hotel Rwanda. Unless Svevan really hates Don Cheadle or something.

UGH! THE KIERA KNIGHTLEY VERSION OF PRIDE AND PREJUDICE DESERVES TO DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

4-hour Miniseries are the ONLY way to watch Pride and Prejudice! Down with the cutters! Down with the pop versions of Austen masterpieces! Down with everybody but Emma Thompson!

Awesome read! Where and how did you develop a writing style that sounds so... academic?

I am a blogger, a writer for Nintendo World Report, a college student studying art history, and a Reformed Christian.
Does this mean you're changed your holy ways?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

No, Reformed Christianity is an existing branch of the religion that's been around for hundreds of years (and is nothing more than the Biblical Christianity that's been around for 2000 years). It is distinct, but not separate, from modern evangelical Christianity.

Funny, but I'm curious. I've come across a lot of religious people but this is the first time that I've seen reformed used to encompass a group of Christians. Maybe I'm thinking of the born-again Christians, but discussions about religion are something that I enjoy greatly (PS I'm an atheist - throw your sinful stones now)
