Meowfia Day Fourteen: Final day
« on: February 14, 2007, 08:11:43 PM »
The sun reigns, and the cat with the fiddle sings:

Nuclearspeed died with speed,
Oh yes, yes indeed.
That's all I got, I concede.

I'll preface all of this by saying I hope we were right yesterday.

I think for sure that TVman is good due to his day 9 swing vote to get rid of stabby.
I also think that 18days is good based on the Segagamer vote. However this is where my ever-so-slight suspicion lands. Perhaps 18days voted off Segagamer (who was walking dead) to ensure he looked Pro-townie?

I hope I'm wrong and I also wouldn't hold it against you guys if you got rid of me today... I'm 95% sure we got the Mafia yesterday anyway. A townie victory is a townie victory and I've already won two of these so I'm not gonna be greedy!

Sorry. Vote 18days Vote Rest for the win (for 2 of us at least...)
“I waited all day. you waited all day.. but you left before sunset.. and I just wanted to tell you the moment was beautiful. Just wanted to dance to bad music drive bad cars.. watch bad TV.. should have stayed for the sunset...if not for me.”

vote rest
I'll reserve judgement about the remaining players until a little later.
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.

So, Wandering. Is this game finally done?

With two possible votes uncast? Hell no! This game is still ripe!

So, not only did Day 13 go on for two whole days with only 4 people left but Day 14 is going to go two days also with only 3 people left?

Strike three for Wandering following his own rules!

I call mistrial. Shenanigans. Bollocks. BS. Corrupt referees. Black Sox.

First the breaking of the written rules regarding when the townies win (hint: day 10), then the disregarding of the coin toss rule to break a tie breaking vote, a rule that was enforced at all times throughout the game except when Wandering decided to arbitrarily throw it out the window, now the extension of the last day beyond play boundaries just so because wandering wants more than one vote in DESPITE giving all the participants time to recover over the previous extended day session.

*ptoooie* I spit on you sir, and I spit on your hamster.

Hey now. There's no reason to get so upset at Wandering. I understand why he left the voting open and chances are someone will be upset tomorrow when they see what happened. Still, I wanted that townie win so I made sure to put some pressure on Wandering here. It's not your fault Wandering. You gave a full 24 hours to vote. Not to mention the second chance given after Kairon first called the rules on you.

Well played final mafia member. Except for this last day where you kind of sucked it up and lost. What happened?

Yeah, he was indeed so close to victory. I knew he would have pulled it off given half a chance. I think he was too busy today to drop by (after all, he was working for the last few hours at least).

Yes. 18 Days was the last mafia, and his lack of internet connection today  pretty much sealed his fate. I'm sure he'll post some sort of story later but for now, I'll pass on a text message I got from him: "F**k. No web connection for the lose"

So let the post-game coverage begin.

Oh man. I really thought I could pull it off.

And unlike sour grapes Kairon, I feel wandering ran an exceptional game, he did keep to the rules. I'll keep my problems with the game balance to myself.

Well played 18days, you almost pulled off the greatest comeback ever. Numerous times during the game when you voted for me I was going to suggest (to defend myself) that you were Mafia, but every time I was about to hit reply I would look at your voting record and realise I couldn’t possible make that allegation. I guess it just sat in the back of my mind and when you seemed so eager to rest on day 13 that pushed it over the edge. I’m glad Tvman had made such a crucial vote to get rid of Stabby, made it easier to vote for you.

Great game all around and I don’t think the rules or timing delays affected the game that much. Good job hosting again Wandering, I’m 3 for 3 when you’re in charge!

Well that was anti-climaxic. I never thought I would see some one lag out on a net game that doesn't rely on timing to play.

Two full fists for wandering for a game well done.

It must be real nice to have a completely clear schedule with no social commitments at all.

24 hours has a lot of difference in a game, especially the key roles (it pretty much killed me this time round, no matter what i could do).

Hah, apparently I had him pegged way back when and I was deceived because I underestimated the Rat's mafia intellect.

I feel sheepish.

Whew. Thank god for you BFS. I may have outed 3 mafia members in 4 votes, but anyone who looked at my playing style should know that in the endgame, I was effectively powerless. My methods were completely based on voting records and I completely lacked the intuition and interpersonal skills it takes to play a game like this. Once stabby was voted out, I had absolutely zero idea what to do next (which is why I stopped tracking votes: everyone at that point had a pretty clean record).

Thankfully, the townies had a savior, and his name was BFS... Hey, what was your suspicion that was confirmed after voting out poor townie NuclearSpeed?

*shrug* Hey, I call 'em like I see 'em. Whenever Wandering bent the stated rules it was to the mafia's favor, so I just had to lodge a formal protest even if it wouldn't come to anything. Go quietly into the night? I don't think so!

But anyways... what was your net connection prob?

And did TVMan survive until the end and actually turn out a townie? I'm scared!
