Namco mailing Tales fans questionaire
« on: February 14, 2007, 05:26:03 AM »
I just got a questionaire from Namco specificly for Tales series.  Looks like the company is asking for where they should release the game onto.  That seemed like the most important question anyways.  Most of the other questions were about what camera position, character style, battle system, and character artists did u like better.

Anyways check ur mailbox and cast ur votes.

TELL THEM TO NOT LET THE CAMERA FOLLOW ONLY THE FIRST PLAYER!!!!

And "Wii", of course.

Unfair... I didn't get one... I love the Tales series.

They need to bring that japanese DS tales game over first, then make the future titles Wii specific. And yes, all future titles must be multiplayer.

I would more than likely buy a multiplayer Wii tales game, but if they could make the story less cliché, it would make the experience that much better.

and they largely fixed the camera issues already in the PS2's Tales of the Abyss

they could make it a prequel to Symphonia (and by extention a prequel to a prequel of Phantasia) called Tales of Mithos

They should team up with Square-Enix and make "Tales Of Mana".

But that would condemn it to suck horribly.

The mana series has just been getting sh*ttier and sh*ttier, and Children was the pinnacle of its utter sh*ttiness.

If I were Square, I'd take a 12 gauge, find a quiet spot in the backyard, and put the Mana series out of its misery once and for all.

It's the humane thing to do.

Hey, I like the Mana series, and even made it through Children, even though it was tedious.  They could still redeem themselves with a good Mana game one day.

And I was mostly joking about Tales Of Mana.  It just seemed like a good fit, if only physically, of the "Tales Of..." and "...Of Mana" titles.  We know that doesn't mean anything.

After all, VGMaps.com's April Fool's maps last year (Mega Man Solid X: Guns Of The Mavericks) was a mix of Mega Man X and Metal Gear Solid, since the bosses in MGS sounded like they'd fit in with MMX (Revolver Ocelot, Psycho Mantis, etc.), and it didn't turn out all that popular.  Even the people who helped me with the project thought that even though the names fit, the game maps were kind of silly.  I'm still proud of the VR Mission: Boss Survival stage (the classic MM boss rematch) map, though.

But then again Tales and Mana fans are probably more of the same people than Mega Man and Metal Gear fans.  Tales and Mana are both action RPGs and MM and MG are totally different.

I liked the mana series at one point as well, but it has just gone so far downhill that I can't fathom them ever saving it.

I was gonna give a link to the survey but apparently it is specifically for me.  The only way u could get this in an email is if you signed up to Namco Tales website.  I did this a long time ago in hope of winning those Tales of Symphonia cards, there was 3 seperate sets and i actually won the set with lloyd, kratos, and presea.

So yeah, apparently Namco is going to announce another Tales game on their website next week.. hopefully it's for Wii. Speaking of which, how come we haven't heard anything about Tales of the Tempest (DS) recently? It's been in development for so long..

I sure hope one of the questions was 'should we stop raping this poor series already? Yes/Yes'

for a sec i thought u were Bill.  The least they could have done was release one or two of the sequels to either GCN or DS instead of PS2 and PSP.  Oh and last I heard Tales of The Tempest has been out in Japan for some time now.  I wonder how long it really does take to translate something, and couldn't they just start translatting during the development process.

Tales of the Tempest is actually out in Japan.  It did OK, like 160,000 or so.  I don't know about any sort of localization attempt though.  Namco is so stupid sometimes.

Tales of Tempest has co-op multiplayer, correct? I'd buy a second DS just for that...

Tempest looked beautiful; easily one of the best looking DS titles. I was really looking forward to it.

Well since the Tales series new home is now the Wii the rumors are more then likely true.  The Tales series goes to the market leader in Japan and since the Wii is the new market leader over there it's a no brainer.

Seems sort of silly to remake Phantasia for the DS when they just remade it for the GBA not that long ago.

I want original tales titles, not just Tales of Destiny and Tales of Phantasia ad infinitum.

I'd love to see an Abyss sequel though.
