Writing on Wii controllers?

When I picked up my copy of Wii Play, it was the first time I have gotten another Wii controller other than the one that came with my Wii when I bought it on release day.  But when I picked up my new controller that came with a game....hahaha.....I noticed on the controller packed in with Wii Play had some writing on the side of the controller.  To the best of my description it says  "C E 0125"  along with a FCC ID# and an icon that says not to dispose of in a trash can....I guess.

So I want to know is this for just Wii Play Wiimotes or did Nintendo at sometime start writing this on all controllers at some point after I got mine?

The Wiimote that came with my system (which was picked up on Dec. 23) has that writing on the side, but the two that I bought individually (one the day before Thanksgiving and the other sometime before Christmas) don't have writing on them.  Maybe it has something to do with it being included with a system/game, or something like that.

I just bought a stand alone Controller and it has the writing on it. My original controller that came with my wii (launch day) does not have it, I guess the original batch was made for all regions.

From your description, it sounds like it's notice of compliance with European Union (the CE mark) and United States (FCC) standards for electronic gizmos.

You know the easy explanation would be that the ones with the writing, (None of mine have it but they were launch.)  Could be the ones that were pulled for random inspections.

Both of mine are marked, one was included with my Wii and came with the second strap while the other was included with Wii Play and uses the old strap.
