Sounds like an indirect or accidental announcement of Guitar Hero on Wii to me.

Special guitar with a slot for the Wii controller? Rockin' out with 1:1 tilt control over on screen character?

A $50 bet says the game will see a Wii appearance. Real DDR is officially on the system now and I'm quite sure Activision would like to make sure that Konami has competition over here. Besides, they'll have the storage and the RAM now, no jumping through hoops with the hardware to make it happen.

I thought it was announced a while ago that GH2 was eventually going to see a release on the Wii.

denjet78, the announcement only said that GH2 would be coming to "all significant consoles". We had no idea if activision/neversoft thought of the Wii as a significant console.

So now the real question is, do I buy this for my 360 now, or wait and get it for my Wii? I'll probably just buy it for my 360, though I must say, this news rocks hard. Bout time Nintendo got some GH lovin.

The only issue I see people having with this game finally coming to a Nintendo system, is that it isn't being made by the orignal series creators anymore since MTV bought that studio but Activision now has the IP.

Well, technically, Rayman Raving Rabbids could be considered the first, since it debuted on the Wii first, then moved to the other consoles. But it was already destined to be a multi console games, so its hard to say.

The Gamecrazy guys are always playing Guitar Hero. I haven't tried it, but it's not really my type of game. A Wii version is still good new though.

Their 2008 Fiscal Year begins this April 1.... 2008 is when it ends.

I understand the basics of the fiscal year, but when given that estimate, there's no telling when a game is going to come out. That's why I say "ehhh...." when I hear announcement like that. There isn't much to go by. Guitar Hero could see the light of day anywhere between this coming April and next April.

Well, it's obvious that they must've only started development recently. After all, Guitar hero 2 just came out for the PS2 and they're not done up-porting the X360 version yet. In order for it to come out before late Holiday season, a lot of these games would have had to be in development in the past month or two...

Also on a related note they'll have to make a peripheral and new engines for the Wii since there wasn't a pass version to use like with the other systems.

It took a while for Ubisoft to up-port RE4 to PC.

I expect the new Guitar to have a little slot/groove that the Remote will plug into, or some pocket to store the remote and you attach a plug to the bottom.

I'm willing to bet most of Guitar Hero's engine is based off of Karaoke Revolution with Amplitude thrown in for the note charts, so this technically shouldn't be that big of a deal since Karaoke Revolution did hit the GC last year.

Yeah, Guitar Hero isn't really news, but it is interesting that Activision is taking Nintendo platforms more seriously.

I don't think the game is very difficult to design. It is mostly creating interesting combo of chords to play and placing it to the music correctly.

What will be important is if the Wii version gets exclusive music to play...and as such if I was Nintendo, I would be sending representatives to Activision offering them classic Nintendo tunes done in by a rock band. As Nintendo I would even pay for the music creation myself.

Guitar Hero for Wii would instantly sell if you put in these songs:

Legend of Zelda Over World Tune
Classic Super Mario World
Classic Super Mario Brothers 3
Metroid Prime theme
ect, ect.

They should also have THIS SONG NOT DONE BY SYSTEM OF A DOWN!

oh god oh god oh god... they should pull together all those small minor bands that have done tribute songs with Nintendo games! OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!

Don't get yourself so excited: its a great way to set yourself up for disappointment.

As for the controller, why not just make a bluetooth controller that can connect to the Wii?

I like the suggestion of adding Nintendo songs to guitar hero, but then again Nintendo could easily make their own "guitar hero" game if they wanted to just for Ninty songs.

But whoever makes the game, as long as they add this song GerudoValley I'll be happy.
