Dewey's Adventure Revealed for Wii
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:35:21 PM »
Team behind Elebits brings a brand new adventure to Wii.

On Thursday Konami announced a brand new action/platformer, Dewy's Adventure, made by the same team behind last year's Elebits.  IGN reports details on the game in a preview and interview with the producer, but gamers can expect gameplay built around the Wii remote: Dewy is moved by tilting environment using the remote, and Dewy's control over the weather (such as temperature and lightning) is leveraged through the D-Pad and gestures.

While mostly linear, the combat and puzzle-driven gameplay has nooks and crannies for secrets and will also have a level editor mode.  The multiplayer also looks promising:

IGN Wii: Elebits was the first game to take advantage of WiiConnect24, enabling gamers to create and share levels. Will Dewy's Adventure utilize WiiConnect 24 in any way? If so, how?

Mukaitoge:
Yes, it will. [laughs] We are not quite sure how we will use it yet.

IGN Wii: Is there a multiplayer mode in the game? If so, how does it work?

Mukaitoge:
We are trying to make a four-player multiplayer mode, but if it proves too difficult, it may end up being only two players. We are going to be making stages specifically for multiplayer, rather than having players unlock the single-player levels for the multiplayer mode. Players will also be able to use the Edit Mode to create levels for the multiplayer.

This looks almost like a Kirby game.

What he looks cute.  Plus I'm interested in the style of play there offering control-wise.  Though I don't see this becoming an actual series.  Which isn't a bad thing in my mind.  The art direction looks solid.  So yeah I'm interested in this game.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.
