If you all read the article about his trip, he includes a picture of a huge amount of copies of Zelda: Wind Waker just sitting in their warehouse. So does this mean Nintendo already has the game ready to ship to retailers or? If so, then why wait til the 24th to release it? Anyone have any ideas?

because that is the release date.

You can't just start shipping the game out. Nintendo has to figure how much to ship to each store. Remember the preorder deal is still in effect.

what did you expect?
Did you think they would finish the game, pack it and ship it the same day?
How many pre-orders did Zelda have? 500K?
How many games were in each box, I count approx 30.
I also count 19 boxes.
This would give them 570 copies.

I think they are a bit short.

Um, that wasn't ALL of the Wind Wakers, kids.  If you READ the article, that was a random sampling of boxes pulled from the production run, and checked for quality control.  That's why they were all OPEN.

In case you were wondering, I'm fairly certain that after they are checked, they are then wrapped back up and boxed again.

I've been in NOA Headquarters several times, but this was my first trip to the North Bend building.

Oh man your lucky.  I hope one day I'll work there.  I'm either going to be a programmer or anything else I can get into at Nintendo.

Uhh.......I got a call from the people that I pre-ordered from (BestBuy) and they said they have it in stock, and since I put more money down than most users I can pick it up as soon as i have 25 bucks.

I don't know though, it was on my answer machine, and they were mumbling.
