News Australian GameCube owners have been waiting for! UPDATED: With confirmation from an Australian games store!

Nintendo Australia is pleased to confirm that The Legend of Zelda®: The Wind Waker* will come with a limited edition two game bonus disc when it launches in early May.

This limited offer will give Zelda® fans the opportunity to play the full version of The Legend of Zelda®: Ocarina of Time* and the never-before-released Master Quest.

A staggering 560,000 copies of The Legend of Zelda®: The Wind Waker* have been pre-sold in the United States with two weeks to go before the March 24th street date.

To date, worldwide sales of The Legend of Zelda® series have surpassed 36 million software units.

Justin from Tunzagames had this to add:
I just confirmed with my Nintendo rep that indeed Zelda Bonus disc will be initially supplied as a pack in like any other 2 disc game. However, they do suggest that this will be limited to the first month or perhaps longer but no firm cutoff date at this stage.

How limited is yet to be seen…remember the ‘limited’ edition gold cart that never ran out here in Australia!!

It's got a duck bill, you moron!

does anyone know if you have to preorder to get the bonus discs, or will they be part of a special deal when you buy the game?

The story makes it sound like it's going to be included with Wind Waker, kinda like Europe's deal.

The dude at my local EB in Brisbane said the bonus disc comes with pre-orders only.

He also said they were going to be in *really* short supply, something like 5000 per store.

I'll be surprised if the real figure is that low, still I pre-ordered as soon as I heard just to be safe

i pre-ordered my copy toady at EB (before i knew of the news).  the staff told me only pre-orders would get the bonus disc, but did not know if we can get it before WW comes out.  bad news, they told me WW has been put back to 30th May.  yikes!

5000 for one store?  Doubt it.  Here in Canada, probably the biggest electronics store (Futureshop) only got 5000 chainwide!

Cool...
I pre-ordered my copy from GPStore.com.au in February. Now when I go to check my order status it says "Zelda: The Wind Waker + bonus!". Woohoo!

...even though I have ordered an import copy anywayz, but its still not guarenteed I'll get the US bonus disk with that (first in first served crap). Still, great news for Australia!!!

I think Spyder meant to say 5000 in all. That makes more sense that 5000 per store.

I went in to my local EB today, before I saw this posting, and there happened to be a rep in at the same time. He said, with heavy emphasis on "really", that they would be really limited. To the point where you better make sure you have a pre-order in asap if you want to have a hope of getting the bonus disc. Whether he was just trying to hard sell me or not I'm unsure, but I did make a pre-order so I guess he won.
Either way - if you want the bonus disc, don't just sit there, go pre-order.
How's my posting?

Actually, I understood it to mean 5000 per chain of stores (EB, Toys R Us, etc).  5000 per individual store would be waaaay too much.

I'm pretty sure it will be pre-orders only, the question now is will Nintendo honour it for *all* pre-orders or just a certain amount
