Sir Daniel, I'm guessing that many of these won't even come out in 2003, much less 2004, and beyond that, many of these won't be exclusive, more than likely.  That's my short and perhaps not so sweet take on what you have here.

Okay, I should clarify.  I know you're not saying they are all exclusives, but the thread is getting at the fact that the PS2 will have all these games and that will make it hard for Nintendo, for instance, to compete.  Well, it's just not a comparison worth making.  Surely you see that this list doesn't mean much of anything.

If I'm missing your point, let me know, but if you're saying that with a lineup like the above that Nintendo can't compete, then I starkly disagree.  Nintendo will get stomped by Sony as usual, because that's just how things are right now, but this list isn't really an indication of much.

I'm quite sure that the PS2 will have an excellent line-up of games at E3, but quite frankly your list leaves a lot to be desired.  A good number of the games you mentioned are multiplatform, substandard, rumored but not confirmed, or much too far away to be shown at E3.  I have no idea where the list came from, but it just seems to be an inconsistent hodgepodge of information.  While I'm certainly no expert on the Playstation library (and please someone correct me if I get something wrong), I do want to comment on some specific games you mentioned though:

Resident Evil 5 - This certainly won't be shown at E3, and even when it is revealed, who knows if it will be GC exclusive, multiplatform, or a Playstation exclusive.  Quite frankly, I think the first two options are much more likely than the final one.

Capcom Fighting All-Stars - This one has actually been rumored to be coming to the GC from time to time, who knows where it will end up.

Street Fighter 4 - ???  While it would be nice of Capcom to finally prove they can't above three for a series other than Mega Man, I haven't heard anything about this one.

Rachet and Clank 2, Sly Cooper 2 - What, is Sony trying to turn these series into the next Tomb Raiders? (and I don't mean that in a good way).  The originals were only released this past holiday season.

Final Fantasy XI - Not so sure this is going to come out over here, considering the necessity for a hard drive and other hurdles, but I might be wrong.

Chrono 3 - Certainly won't be shown, very minor possibility that it isn't even for the Playstation 2.

Anyway, to be blunt, I think this particular list (wherever you got it), is much too easy to pick apart with its numerous flaws to be very convincing.  Some person just stuck together every confirmed and rumored PS2 game of any value and ended up with a list that might not end up being too accurate.

Sir Daniel, I assume you lifted this straight from IGN PS2's "Games of 2003" feature.  After perusing said list, if's blatantly obvious that it is neither a list of games that are confirmed to necessarily be released on PS2 in 2003 (quite a few have 2004 beside them), nor is it a list of PS2 games grounded in reality, period..  Take Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 as just two examples.  These games are just rumors at this point in the game, and even if they WERE coming to PS2, they may not be exclusive anyway, or may not even come to the console at all.  IGN PS2's so-called "Games of 2003" feature should have, in reality, be named "Our PS2 Wish List of Games" or something similar, because, quite frankly, that's exactly what it is.  If I were you, I'd take this list with a grain of salt.

Now, concerning how this stacks up against Nintendo's E3 lineup: there are already lots of great GCN games that we know will be shown at E3 as well as many that we don't yet know about.  Nintendo likes to hold its cards very close to its proverbial chest, so I'm certain they've got quite a few big surprises in store for us at E3.

So what's the bottom line?  Ignore this list, wait until E3 to see what's REALLY shown, and THEN decide for yourself who has the better showing.  In the meantime, go play some great games.

i do have to say that most of those games are confirmed but alot are not
those include: chrono 3, re5 (which will probably be on the gamecube), metal gear 3, and some others

also- i think you got these games off of ign am i right?

nintendo always has surprises remember- every year they surprise everyone with something or another
i think that the ps2 e3 showing will be alright- i only care about the rpgs that they show
nintendo always has the best lineup- mostly because they keep everything so secretive and hidden
i call the big one bitey.

Why is it that everyone always sets themselves up for a dissapointment at these shows?
There are all these fake lists for each console going around. The actual line-ups won't be anywhere near as good as these amazing fantasy line-ups featuring games that either aren't real or won't be released for a LONG time and definitly won't be at E3.

As for who will "win" E3. If winning means drawing the biggest crowds, Nintendo obviously will win. Mario Kart alone will probably guarantee that. Despite barely showing any games, Nintendo "won" E3 two years ago simply because it had Smash Bros Melee which drew the biggest crowds and made Nintendo's section of the show the most popular.

if nintendo has anything up its sleave, then i would expect a showing that was at least as good as the ps2's. the ps2 may have more gmaes, but when it comes down to game of the show, dont be suprised to see an exclusive gc game take it.....maybe even xbox who knows.

Wow, a post like this makes me wonder if "Sir" Daniel has ever even been to an E3 event.  I doubt it, as $ony has never been the "winner of any E3 I've ever been too, and this year will be my fifth time in attendance.  Even the year the ps2 was introduced, $ony was completely outdone by the rocking Sega Booth. And as far as I'm concerned, Nintendo has owned the show for the past two years and it looks like they will do the same this year.

Also, "sir" Daniel neglects to mention that the majority of the games he has listed are not ps2 exclusives and will infact be coming to other consoles and p.c.

Another good point is that many of the games listed actually suck!  I know this may offend a few of you but, lets face facts, many of the biggest franchises on the ps2 have been either high profile disappointments(The Getaway), or they are franchises that have been milked to death with countless, mindless, "cash-run" sequels(Final Fantasy, Onimusha, Metal Gear, etc...)

Finally, his mentions the non-existent "Resident Evil 5."  Thats a laugh!  It just goes to show you how brainwashed and mindless most "$ony Nazi's" really are.  They will believe anything! lol!  Then they come in to places like this and shoot their uninformed mouths off.  Its quite a laugh.  I see posts like "sir" daniel's on almost every web board I go to.  It's always some little $ony goon saying, "Nintendo's getting out of the hardware Business" or "Microsoft is stopping production on X-box."  Oh please, can't you people find better things to do?

The "Wall Street Journal" Recently reported that it expects half of $ony's current user base to switch to either a Nintendo or a Microsoft system during the next round of console wars.   Last fridays "Hollywood Reporter" featured a cover story detailing the masssive %13 drop in $ony Entertainment stocks over the last couple of months.  Finally, $ony is suffering from massive piracy and a floundering on-line campaign that many industry folks see as a failure.  (If you've played EverQuest or Socom, you know why) If anyone should be worried about E3, it should be $ony, this time they really need to put up or shut up  Especially considering that their biggest franchises will now bee seen on other systems (i.e. GTA Series, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear)

I have a prediction that will come to pass;  This is $ony's last round at the top.

Nintendo "won" E3 two years ago simply because it had Smash Bros Melee which drew the biggest crowds and made Nintendo's section of the show the most popular.
That's not the only reason it "won."  Nintendo, pioneering the video game since the early 80s suddenly announced that they would be showing off their new console, their prized Project Dolphin.  Not only that, but the games showed were more than just Super Smash Bros. Melee:

-Luigi's Mansion
-Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
-Eternal Darkness
-Pikmin
-Star Fox Adventures
-WaveRace: Bluestorm
-Metroid Prime
-Animal Forest
-Kameo: Elements of Power

Clearly it was more than just SSBM.  Luigi was to star in his first game (ie, without Mario there to hold the game up).  The incredible guys at Factor 5 were showing off just how impressive the GameCube could look.  Silicon Knights demonstrated just how spooky a game could get when sanity effects combined with a great storyline.  Miyamoto, the most revered game developer of this age showed of a new series, Pikmin.  Rare burst out of the gates showing off their artistic skills in Star Fox Adventures and Kameo (yes, I know this is no longer for GC, thank you).  Retro Studio was showing off a solid series that had not shown its face in the American limelight for eight long years.  And last, but certainly not least, was the innovative creation from EAD simply entitled Animal Crossing that would come to be known as one of the most addicting games of all time.

"Bionic Commando Sequel"? When was THAT announced? O_o For that matter, Sly Cooper 2? (Although that's more believable.)

Are you sure this is a real list, or just a fanboy's collection with some of the titles only based on weak rumors?

You are right Ninja X. Doom 3 did win.....and it was the most ridiculous E3 game of the year ever. The game was just footage. Hell even the latest demo I played isn't even at version 1 yet!!! and that was last month. Hopefully no matter which platform its on....this years E3 game of the year is actually a playable title. I mean anyone can come out with some promising video footage. Oh an from what I played Doom 3 seems deserving of that honor but how could anyone know that for sure last year when they weren't able to try it out in playable form? BTW nice Avatar Ninja X. Grey Fox......they shouldn't have killed him. He deserved a spinoff.......

So we see the continuing trend of stuff on film winning GOTY, just like MGS2. You know what? NOw that MGS:TT is only gonna be shown as footage, maybe Nintendo will actually have a shot at "GOTY" this year!

I don't think an accurate Game of E3 can be said at this point because of the simple fact that a lot of companies' big games are still under wraps, Nintendo included, I'm sure. Someone could show a real shocker that will steal the show.

Your list looks suspect like the others have said. A lot of the games listed are multiplatform and some aren't even confirmed. It looks like an IGNPS2 wishlist to me. I can give you a Nintendo E3 lineup with a bunch of confirmed and rumored games. That list would look every bit as impressive as the PS2 list you have if not moreso.

regardless of what sony and microsoft declare they are showing, i think nintendo has to come out with a HUGE announcement.  there's no way sony and MS are gonna rest on their laurels; you know they're gonna come out strong... with something.
i just don't want to see the big N come out with it's titles thinking that it's gonna rule the show just because it's nintendo and then get blown out of the water.  they tried relying on just their name and it's gotten them this far.  they have to get off their asses, make some things happen, and hopefully pull out of this image problem they're in right now.
