From watching those 4 vids available in the above link I gotta say that graphically the game looks great, however I don't know how it compares to prior Tiger Woods games. Now all I want to know is how we play it, and I would surely hope it has an online mode where I can play with other people.

me likey very much!

the graphics are pretty impressive. though as always the method of play(ing i.e online) will be among the most deciding factors as to purchasing this game.

ShyGuy: You could've at least used both screenshots with the same background, maybe the Wii has less trees, or has just as much but less detailed.

I read the impressions at ign.
They say that graphically the game is comparable to Tiger Woods 2007 on PS2, I guess that's not so bad.
As for the gameplay mechanics, they said that they felt intuitive, but the way they described them felt to me a little confusing, but whatever.

I'm already set in believing that this game has no online component, which means I ain't buying it unless it is really cheap. I've got Pangya to satisfy me for the while, so they better offer more than what I have already.

This was the closest I could find Caliban, I encourage all to find a better screenshot matchup

Tiger himself looks comparable in both screens, the 360 has better textures, but not overly so. The biggest difference seems to be the shadows. I actually think his pants look more realistic in the Wii screen.

Graphically comparable to TW on the PS2? That's terrible. Although I am not a graphics whore, I still can't believe that the Wii is being compared to last generations most inferior system. And no online play? This sucks.

Comparable to PS2 isn't acceptable. XBOX is maybe acceptable, but not PS2.

I'm disappointed it isn't a perfect golf sim. Just like the DS, third parties are so slow...

Sounds pretty bad to me... Looking at the video, I was totally unimpressed with the graphics. I liked the fluid motion of Tiger himself, but everything else left me uninterested, graphic-wise.

I'm calling BS on whoever said that.  Look at the ground textures, that's the sharpest looking grass Tiger Woods anything has had of past gen hardware.  No other version of the game other than 360 and PS3 had anything that looked like that.

Artimus: Well we can't really even compare it to the X-Box. From what I've read the Wii does not have any pixel shader units, but the X-Box did albeit in a small amount. Despite what I've read about the Wii not having pixel shader units, I think that developers are BSing us, just watch some videos of Mario Galaxy, I think Nintendo is hiding something from every other developer.

Arbok: But it definitely looks better than Pangya.

darknight06: When I watched that footage for the first time, the grass was the first thing that caught my attention, it looks really good.

Having looked at the videos, the PS2 comparison is ridiculous. Sure the backgrounds and trees are a bit sparse, but Tiger's model and the grass looks great.

I just read on IGN an interview about this game, sorry to brake the bad news but there ain't any online mode.
That sucks, I mean if there was no other golf game out there I could understand their position, but right now they are basically giving us what I already have.
I am so believing that Nintendo had their hand on the choice of not having online, they want to be the first afterall.
Well maybe EA could have implemented online features, but they decided to put it on the 2008 version and publicize it as "NEW ONLINE MODE! PLAY WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!".

That commercial is F*CKING AWESOME!!!!!!

That is EXACTLY what they need to show people to convince them to try the Wii version of these games.

Not only is Tiger starring in the commercial, but he's using his patented legendary swing to perform his legendary swing in GAME.

There is no reason to own this game on any other console. None.

You can patent a swing?

So does this mean that this Wii game is a lawsuit waiting to happen? I mean, if people can easily replicate his swing on the game, that means we are stealing his moves!

In all seriousness, though, the commercial was indeed cool.

What I am wondering, though, is if Tiger Woods golf Wii is easier to handle than the older gold games. From what I know, the old console versions featured some weird use of joysticks. Swinging a golf club is EASIER than pushing joysticks and buttons.

I'll give EA credit where it's due.. that commercial is just amazing. It concentrated completely on the Wii version, it stars Tiger and it gives a great representation of the controls.

Looks like they're backing the winning horse.

I've read that it can be.  You can also set it so you can play sitting down by swinging the controller right to left with a flick of the wrist (or left to right for all the lefties out there).

It's sounds promising, just so long as one control scheme doesn't make things much easier than the other.

Is it just me or did it look like the 360/PS3 version was on the screen and not the Wii one?

Also I like the sky better in the Wii screenshot and how its much brighter.  Though I like the club much better in the 360/PS3.

Edit:  Also while I enjoyed the swing mechanics of Pangya for Wii.  I found everytime I go to play the game I would have to readjust and by the time my swing was correct it was time to stop.  I went to button mode and I'm enjoying the game much more now.

I found this video today that goes into how to hook shot and what not in Tiger Woods 07 Wii. It's on Gametrailers.com and ussually can skip the ads if your quick enough. The site itself is laggy though. Here is the Link to Tiger Woods 07 on GT. It's the Swing Tutorial video.

I was in a waiting room once, reading about Tiger Woods in a sports mag and they were talking about how each golfer does have their own unique swing and how Tiger was actually looking to improve his.

Hence why Tiger playing the game himself is such a huge deal.

Also, the new videos look just fine, graphic wise. That screenshot must be from an older build.

Actually, EA has been making Nintendo specific commercials for the majority of their sports releases since midway through the GC gen.  The idea was to market directly to Nintendo fans who never seemed to buy EA sports games.  Later they added Nintendo characters or Nintendo themed courses to some sports games to achieve this as well.
