SOL.  Very small print of it through Nintendo.com, but I think it appeared in some stores about this time last year.
I must find a way to use "burninate" more in my daily speech.

It was released, noone bought it and I think it's still sitting on store shelves because it's not quite old enough to warrant dumping the copies yet (also stores only have one or two in stock at a time I think).

It's out of print and impossible to find.  They're now selling for a steep premium on eBay.

I learned this the hard way when I finally decided to pick up a copy last month : (

I bought it about 2 months ago at an EB games in Canada. Wondered if I should sell it on Ebay but figured I can pick one up at anytime and do that.

Yes, Electroplankton is just that plentiful here. Still, I delayed for a long time from buying it because it's $44 and that makes itone of the most expensive DS games. But, I finally broke down and bought it. I will admit, I have been disappointed a bit with it. Not being able to save music is critical. Plus, I really thought the composition of music would be different. I find a few modes quite limiting and you cant combine music from different plankton. I'd advise waiting for a price drop but it's rarity makes that impossible. Still, it works real good for introducing the DS and it's capabilities to people. If you still need to impress someone or amaze them with the DS.
Whoever said, "Cheaters never win" must've never met Khushrenada.

It's one of these games I'd take for free or maybe a fiver but wouldn't pay even close to full price for. It can be as rare as it wants, it's not worth the money.

Last time i checked amazon had it New or Used for up to $199.99, lowest at the time was $129.99.  The collector in me wants to keep it, the in debt part of me wants to sell it along with the 2 Zelda collection disks on GCN which both fetch for about $60-$80 used.  Oh and Beyond Good & Evil that goes for $60ish.

Until I am faced with living in a van down by the river, I'm probably gonna hold onto these.

You can't really go by Amazon marketplace prices.  Do a completed items search on eBay, that's a more realistic way to find out what things are going for used.

BG&E has been selling for about $30 and Elektroplankton for about $60.

Speaking of which, when I do a "Completed listings" search, it looks like it only gives you the items sold in 2007. Is there any way of seeing those which sold last year or earlier?

Elektroplankton was sold exclusively online. Some sonline outlets shifted copies to their physical store locations, which is why copies of the game were showing up at EB.

I was lucky enough to find a complete used copy at Blockbusters for $20 a few months ago. Rental chains may still sell their copies, so keep your eyes open!

Note to collectors, games released through limited channels (Pokemon Box comes to mind)are likely going to be tough to obtain down the road. So if you want it, don't hesitate!

I got it when it first came out. Fun little piece of software and I completely recommend it to those that are interested. That said, don't expect a full-featured "game" at all. It's a time waster. . . but a really good one.
