Wii play delayed in the US?
« on: December 19, 2006, 05:08:34 AM »
From Go Nintendo:
Wii Play delayed in US

It hasn’t been officially confirmed by Nintendo, but I would take their online press room as proof enough. As of yesterday Nintendo’s online press room had Wii Play dated for January 15th. I was in the press room this morning, and now the title has been bumped to February 12th according to the list.

I guess NoA doesn’t want WarioWare receiving any first party competition.

Suckfest...Oh well, at least this guarantees there is at least one Wii title in Februar.

Confirmed on the press site.  That's enough proof for me. I'm updating our release info.

This sucks cause i just returned a controller thinking I could hold out until january for my fourth.  Now I have to wait another month...

Is it even confirmed that Wii Play will come packaged with a Wii Remote in North America?

Though if there really are controller shortages, that might be part of the reason for the delay.

I don't remember where it was originally confirmed, but it is pretty common knowledge I think.  I just hope Nintendo doesn't pull that idea either.  Then I'll feel really silly for returning a controller.

How deep is Wii Play? I definitely want to play a few of the games in the collection (ping-pong, air hockey, etc.) but everything I've read seems to indicate that this is more of a Wii-mote tutorial than something like Wii Sports, which ended-up being way more entertaining that I ever thought would be possible.

One more thing...Is it possible that maybe the delay has to do with the new wrist-straps?

Wii play can be a lot of fun in short bursts.  It is DEFINITELY worth 10 bucks (if you subtract the price of a controller from the total cost).

If you need another controller, you would be silly not to buy it with Wii Play.

I think it was confirmed on one of the magazines (I think it was Nintendo Power) that Wii play would come with a free controller. I think they even showed some pictures of the box that promoted the free controller greatly.

what are you getting next month?

Aside from Super Swing Golf which I won't get until after Christmas, the only game I know I am getting will be Final Fantasy VI Advance, which is in February.  Hotel Dusk is near the end of January,and a few days before that the Phoenix Wright sequel.

That's about it for the near future.

This gen I am not going to be so generous with my money, only for the fact that I buy way too many games and I have a lot that I still haven't even played yet.

Never bothered with any of that, and I don't see a reason why to start now.

My brother hates Wii Play for the reaosn that the games lack depth, especially in comparison to Wii Sports, but i picked it up regardless only for the second remote that comes with it.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THAT????????

Nintendo's cracked.

I never would have believe it but it really does look like they've lost what tenuous grip on reality that they used to have.
