Moving Channels...
« on: December 19, 2006, 04:55:54 AM »
Okay, by now I assume most of us know that you can move channels around by holding both the a and b buttons and dragging them...

But is it just my unit, or can the Disc Channel not be moved?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

The disc channel is the only one that is fixed in its position. I guess Nintendo did this so it would always be easy to find and also because of the disc that hangs off the left edge (and moves off-screen when you remove the disc).
Thanks for listening.

I can't move them around period, I hold down b then press a and it goes to the channel, i press both at the same time, same result, and obviously if i press a first, it goes to the channel.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

try pressing B then A, or do them both at the same time, or do it while moving the wiimote at the same time.

MaryJane, the same stuff happens to me: they are unmovable!
Maybe it doesn't work with the original firmware? (which I have)

If you still have the original, non-upgraded firmware, can you tell me if the unused Channel spaces have "snow" or not?  And if it says "Wii Menu" or whatever it says at the bottom?  I keep thinking that they both weren't there originally.

On another note, I wonder what happens if all 48 Channel spaces get used up.  There aren't enough Channels, even if you have all of the VC games so far, I bet, but it won't be long before it is possible.  The Virtual Console should be its own channel, or at least a different console per channel.  Or, you know, custom-created VC channels, like listing them by genres or favorites.

I had hoped the Channels could be made bigger.  You know, like the Disc Channel could be the size of four channels or something.

This is what I have noticed about the snow.  Before I got my component cables and hooked them up, I did not notice a snowy look for the unused channel locations, but after I hooked the cables up, it was snowy looking like a no-signal channel.

The bottom "Wii Menu" text was not originally there, nor was the flashing channels start-up sequence. I do not recall if the snow was there.
Thanks for listening.

I always thought that the Virtual Console games should have been split up by game system.....so all NES under one channel and so on.

Here, I took a pic of my tv (sorry if it's a bit blurry):

(yeah, I have a cr*ppy 15" screen tv but I don't have much space so I can't get anything bigger...*sigh*)
