Error Code 51340
« on: December 07, 2006, 03:41:56 PM »
I'm using the Dongle USB latest software and it works fine with my DS, and the Wii shows up for it initially while I grant it connection access, but then during the test it fails and gives me this error code. I can't find an answer anywhere and i'm about to give up on this online crap entirely.

Oh yeah and of course I looked up the error code but it tells me how to fix my wireless router and i don't even have a wireless router.

51040 is another error code I get randomly with this one.

Did a quick google search and found this: uninstall your dongle, and reinstall it using the newest software (version 1.04).  Perhaps you never uninstalled the old one?

Sorry bout yer Wii

Done that! Tried all the versions too. Nothing.

Update: I have gotten it to work (for now) by making the Wii and the Dongle less than a metre apart. Previously they were a whopping 3 metres apart!

That's still odd, mine is across the house and it still picks it up.

I think there may be something in my room interfering with the connection big time so later i'll remove things one by one and see if anything changes. Though it would be quite odd if there was something that interfered with the Wii and not the DS.

UPDATE: OK now it just isn't working anymore no matter where I put it.

just get a wireless router.  I have the USB dongle and tried to use on my work computer but I could never get it to work, so I just leeched off the wifi from downstairs when I play at work, and use my wireless router at home for DS (and Wii too, and PSP when I feel up to it.)

Update: For the last week or so it's been working perfectly 24/7 with no problems at all, all I noticed that changed is that the WiFi Software changed the name of my Wii to some strange squares.
