good way to spend tax dollars, I don't care how bad he has been before.  This is not what the police should be used for.

I saw the original story yesterday, and it was a GBA that he stole from under the tree, but his mom had had enough, because he had been shoplifting, stealing from her purse, and even assaulted a Police officer. She felt she was doing him a favor by sending him to Juvi for 3 months w/o a christmas before he got sent there for some crime much much worse in the near future.

If she were a better parent she would have raised him to be a good person, but she probably never tried to really discipline him and told him "don't do that again" and let it go after that.

If I was bad my parents whipped me, they grounded me and the normal punishments.  But they didn't let me get away with anything and they never called the police on me or my brother.

I don't mean to say she is a bad parent over all, but it's obvious that somewhere she failed somehow.

I think she was wrong, the way I see it she is pushing him off to be the responsibility of the taxpayers, while she gets a vacation from having to be a parent.  She needs to step up and raise him the way she thinks the state should.  I also think she should be charged with wasting taxpayers money and be ordered to pay what it's going to cost the state to house, feed and whatever else.  She should not be able to get out of being a parent, just because she is too lazy (apparently) to stand up and be the PARENT.  She's in charge, not the child.

Keep in mind the mom is 27 and the boy is 12, which would make her roughly 15 when she had him.  The great-grandmother is 63, which would make the average age she and her daughter (the boy's grandmother) gave birth at 18.

This ain't exactly a respectable family.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

"Nintendo" used to be synonymous with "videogames", and its been known that "Playstation" is the new "Nintendo", but hopefully that will all be changed again thanks to the Wii. Soon "Nintendo" will be the new "Playstation" and as odd as that may sound hopefully it will be true.

At least they didn't kill him like that kid that was accused of stealing the PS3s.
