Damn spider
« on: December 04, 2006, 12:44:23 PM »
Huge spider, about 1" long body, crawling on my ceiling, JUST DISAPPEARED!

Now I'm scared to move for fear of uncovering a huge crazy spider that's gonna kill me.

I wish I had normal fears like heights or claustrophobia.  Instead, I'm scared of bugs and Howie Mandel.

What's that statistic about how many spiders people eat in their sleep during their lifetime? I hope you sleep with your mouth closed...

What's hairy, has eight legs, twelve eyes and a huge mouth?

I don't know, but it's crawling up your shoulder right now!
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Well, I killed it.

The little flucker that was terrorizing me for two and a half hours decided to crawl on my dresser.  It was crushed by a nice thick hardcover book about blackjack.  Oh what's that?  You didn't want a hit?  Too bad!

In a year and a half at this school, that's the first bug I've seen in a dorm room.  So I'm pretty confident that I shall have no other unwelcome visitors in the near future.

Oh and did anyone see 'Heroes' tonight?  What an awesome show...

Speaking of fear of Spiders and such.  I hate the Spider's in Zelda.  They royally creep me out more than any video game creature has before.  I think its the combination of their size and the design on their backs.  Anyway, every time I see one of those spiders I jump inside and want to kill it as soon as possible with a ranged weapon so I don't have to see it up close.

I have a very strange love/hate relationship with spiders. I'm not really afraid of them (unless I know it's poisonous, I've seen quite a few black widows in my day), but I have a lot of dreams with them and can "still see them" when I wake up. It creeps me the Hell out. I rarely kill them when I see them, and sometimes I'll let them crawl on me. I can also shoot webs out of my wrists. If you ever want to really get freaked out by spiders, do a Google image search for "camel spider" (AKA sand scorpion), which are native to Iraq, or look at pictures of the effects of a Brown Recluse bite. You'll end up being at least a little scared of spiders.

I can't....stop....looking...

Also, the myth about eating spiders in your sleep is, ahem, a myth. Not true.

I hate spiders because their ranged attacks slow you down and they can take so many shots you can forget about the assault rifle and have to use rocket launchers or cluster grenades instead. Still undecided if it's better to level all buildings around you or leave them standing when fighting spiders.

Spiders are okay by me, as long as they don't come into my room (or the house in general).

While we do have a tarantula, it is in an aquarium, so that's okay.  Polly is cute.

I hope you didn't just kill the reason you haven't seen any other bugs.
