Wii Serial Number
« on: November 30, 2006, 03:36:53 AM »
I am having a problem registering my Wii Console S/N on nintendo's website.  Just wondering if anybody can tell me how many characters the S/N is supposed to be and maybe I can figure out where I went wrong.  I'm at work now and only have the S/N that I e-mailed to myself and can't look at the original until I go home later. The S/N that I wrote down is 10 characters starting with "LU". Any help would be appreciated.
My Wii Code:

You'll probably have to go home and simply recheck it if it's not working.  I had no problem with mine.  I think some serial numbers on Nintendo products have the last digit in another box, but still clearly part of the S/N, be sure to include that digit too.  Unless I'm thinking of something else.

(When I got my Wii at EBGames they gave away either Viewtiful Joe 2 and Geist.  I picked up Geist (even though I'd finished it before on a rental) and got another code.

I register everything - I have all systems listed except for the Game Boy micro, and over a dozen games, bringing the total to about 20 registered products - but I don't see the point.  I haven't seen any good offers based on my registered products.  I remember there were some for games I don't have, like Custom Robo, and a few issues of Nintendo Power, but nothing cool like Japanese Club Nintendo goodies.  >_< )

Completely off subject, but does Geist run with improved framerate?  I've been curious as to whether or not the Wii runs GameCube games with any increased performance.

Don't forget to type in the 8 that's in the "box" at the end.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

Thats one of the reason I can't help but be mad at NoA.  The only thing I really ever gotten from registering things is a Kirby Canvas Curse Stylus (It's a pink stylus with a white tip.  I was hoping it have Kirby on it.)

WTF, I never got a Kirby stylus, and I registered Kirby: Canvas Curse, too!

But then again since you say it doesn't have Kirby on the end of it then I don't feel like I'm missing much.

For registering entire consoles you'd think you'd get something, sheesh.

Edfishy: I only opened up Geist to get the registration code, but I haven't played this copy of the game on either my GameCube or Wii yet.  As I said, I played and finished it on a rental back when the game was new, so I'll probably only revisit it if I'm able to pull myself away from Zelda...  >_>  But you're right, I remember some framerate issues when playing it before on the GameCube.  >_<

I was in the first x to register.  Ironically enough I remember picking that game up at launch even though I was iffy on it.

I tried adding an "8" at the end but it still didn't work. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait to double check my S/N when I get home

Yeah we really get the shaft over here in the Americas. I have probably 60+ things registered, and have gotten pretty much everything Nintendo of America has given out, but it seems like they forgot about the whole program and only give away 3-month NP subscriptions now. I am hoping that since the Wii is finally out some interesting new offers will pop up giving away cool stuff.

But yeah, I definitely wish I was living in Japan, then I would've gotten every single cool thing NoJ has given away. Oh well.
