I'm surprised that even now people are waiting like the original launch.

I got a second Wii today (it's for my little brother, I picked it up for my Mom) at Wal-Mart. I showed up at 6:45, I was the 36th person in line, but some people were just waiting with friends, so I ended up being #28 out of 31 total systems. There was probably 45 people in line at one point, but they left when the tickets were passed out. Even then about 10 more people followed the line to the layaway section in hopes of getting one. The total sales after this week passes have GOT to be at the very least 1.6 million.
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

Well my brother and I each got a Wii on the first day. (Fights have been known to break out so ever since we buy at least two of each console that we use the most.)

But one of my friend who were looking to get one went to a WalMart to inquire about the Wii, and they ask how did you know we are getting more. (They were just posted all over their doors....)
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

Interesting stories.  I'm also impressed that people are still lining up.  I thought that by mid-December they'd be easy to get.
That's my opinion, not yours.

If stores sold their stock as it was received rather than keeping them stockpiled them in the back and holding them to a set date and time like it were a mini-launch you wouldn't have this problem. These stores are trying to generate additional hype and are causing more harm in the process.

I got mine on the 6th from Walmart. I was ticket number 30 out of 30, so you can say I was lucky. There were at least 20 more people waiting to see if any of the people with tickets didn't show up. After I paid for my Wii, there was one left over because number 12 didn't show up... the crowd soon got real ugly, needless to say I took mine and speed walked to my truck in fear for my Wii.

Now I just need to get my hands another flippin Wiimote and Nunchuck.

The thing is though, they want to put the new item in their weekly flyer.  But they don't want to advertise the new item if they don't have any in stock to actually sell.  I mean, a store could easily go the entire week the flyer runs without getting any Wiis instock.  So, they hold a shipment or two in back so when the flyer comes out, they actually have some to sell.
