In any case, No More Heroes competes with Geist in the framerate department.

Don't like video games? That is a riot in itself considering I supported every console since the N64 era, in addition to BUYING games like Killer7 long before it became a cult favorite. In fact I've purchased a myriad of unique games that would be considered far out of the mainstream. Just because someone doesn't bow at the altar of Suda51 doesn't make them any less of gamer than someone who, let's say, doesn't like Twilght Princess or some other game.

I got the game, and though I've only played the tutorial and part of the first level, I can confirm that it kicks ass. Watching Travis someone in half and then call them a "f***head" just about made my day.

The battle for #6 had a great, yet shocking ending...TT's character is fleshing out pretty well so far, though he keeps bouncing back between psycho and sentimentalist so much it's hard to really figure out which one he really is...

The battle for #5, oh man...Just brilliant all the way through...From following the blood trails to the field where the body was left, to following the mysterious shadow figure through the tunnel (reminded me of Killer 7), to the buildup with the fight against Letz that ended up with a whole new fight starting (End stage screen pops up out of nowhere!)...Everything about that chapter was amazing...

It seems like the game was built more around the boss fights, which are great. The Wiimote controls are also some of the best in a Wii game, they don't overdo waggle but have just enough to make you feel like you are apart of the action (Not to mention they are quite responsive). Still wish the overworld was axed for something else, that motorcycle you ride controls like a tank and I am finding the money making jobs to be tedious. All I want to do is go to the next assassination level, not pick up coconuts or drive my tank/bike around in a boring, empty town.

Ahaha, riding the bike is MUCH easier once you get the hang of making sharp drift turns...

A funny story: When I head towards the Thunder Ryu building from the Job Center, I always end up taking a turn down the same road and it sort of "dead ends" into a triangle-shaped gray parking lot that you can drive through to get to the road on the other side...I keep ****ing crashing there because the fence on the side of the opening pops up right as I'm about to hit it...It's happened like a half-dozen times now, and I can never make up my mind whether to be angry and pitch a fit or just laugh... ='D

Alright, so I beat it.  I love the ending.  The real ending that is.  When you beat the game, make sure you've bought all three Tsubaki katanas, apparently.  That's what unlocks the real ending, though it has nothing to do with it, so I haven't spoiled anything.

The story was very good.  There's a youtube up of what someone says slowed down, so you can tell what happens there, too.  People who have beaten the game may want to search that one out, but there's not much to it.

Played a few more hours of it, and while I still dislike the overworld missions to raise money, I love the ranked levels, with the boss battles being quite diversified and unique. The wrestling moves are great as well, you actually feel like you are doing them!

Well, there's a trick to them:

There's an undocumented technique, or at least, it isn't present in the manual.

You've probably done the trick where you slide around an enemy and time slows down, but it's tough to figure out what it takes to do it.  Here's how:  You have to block an attack with your sword, and immediately afterwards, move the joystick to the left or right.  It's tough to do precisely, but if you just block every attack and jiggle the stick back and forth, you'll pretty much automatically do it on your own.

Time for fights 2, 3, and 4!

The battle for #4: This one was just...really weird...Probably my least favorite battle so far, but only because I found Harvey annoying...And he laughed too much...He was also probably the easiest battle for me, as I ripped right through him with the Tsubaki MK-II...Oh, and the Phantom of the Opera spoof at the end was classic...

The battle for #3: Ahaha, this one was hilarious...First, when you leave the hotel, you see Jeane walk out the front door with you...I thought it was a glitch at first, but was proven wrong!  The second shock was seeing the assassin was...a BAG LADY!?  Wow, what a plot twist!  But this wasn't so much a fight against Speed Buster as it was against her giant "Hey look, I gots infinite ammo code on!" cannon...Ultimately I was disappointed with this boss fight as well, but only because I fully expected Jeane to help me defeat her, but she disappeared!?  Can anyone confirm whether or not there was any purpose to Jeane during the fight?  Oh yeah, head to Thunder Ryu's place after the battle for a lovely surprise... ='D

The battle for #2: After such a odd "battle" for #3, we are back to a lovely traditional fight between melee weapons...And what a fight it is, making it my favorite fight so far...I loved the music, and how Bad Girl shakes her hips to it as she walks, and I loved her straight-forward attacks, and I loved her attitude, and I loved her profanity fits whenever you drove her into the ground with a wrestling move or didn't fall for her feint...Talking about that feint, I completely fell for it the first time... =(  I totally thought it was activating the next part of the fight, but NUP, INSTANT DEATH!  A rather hilarious, yet cheap addition to the fight...It was a sad ending for the fight as well, as I felt that Bad Girl was one of those "traumatic childhood" types that was just looking for attention...Alas, c'est la vie...

I enjoy the personalities so much that I don't have the willpower to resist moving onto the next one right away... =(

Thankfully I'll be busy these next two days, so the final battle will have to wait 'til Tuesday night...

About #2 Bill She really reminded me of Mitsuko from Battle Royale, really crazy and she would not stop  attacking you even after you stab her through the gut

Driving Travis' bike into the river as a way of teleporting directly back to the motel is one of the best ideas in game design I've scene this generation.

However, driving Travis's bike is one of the worst ideas in game design I've seen this generation.  Just a bad idea all together.

Also, I was upset about something: You never get to fight any assassins ranked lower than you that have worked their way up.  I was really hoping for an extra boss or two this way.  The closest thing we get is Henry, which isn't fair, really.

The driving isnt THAT bad.. like bill(?) said it does get better once you're used to doing the sharp turns. sometimes i'll do those just cuz.. their fun lol. after you realize the way its done it really pulls you in cuz its like you're really 'cutting the wheel' to the left or right to pull of the turn.

oh and yeah, jumping into the river is sweet for getting back home since some some of the missions are far off from that save point.. plus the framerate gets so bad you just dont want to drive the bike period lol. its all good though, im still loving this game despite some of its issues. its the most fun i've had playing a new IP in a long time

This game is f*cking amazing. That's all there is to it.

A few minor dips in framerate here and there, but that's the only bad thing I have to say about this game.

I hope there's a "Boss Rush" mode at the end where you get to fight all of the assassins all over again...
