I mean to say that Halo's loading screen was tastefully done as well. Nevertheless, Suda 51 is pretty awesome.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Something I just caught on my last watch-through...Does Travis call Destroyman, "Mr. 7"?  Because that's what it sounds like...I assume that'd mean that Destroyman is the 7th assassin, but my ears could be playing tricks on me...

I caught the word seven too Bill. My first thought was Killer 7?? but I think you are right, he said mister 7.

Those guys are probably the lower ranks (7 would be 7th place on the list), they wouldn't want to spoil the later game, now would they?

Some scenes remind me of GTA3, the art style seems inspired by the GTA 3 box art.

Holy crap.
Suda51 has an excellent sense of style, and he knows how to make it flow.  Some people try a style like that, but it's stilted or forced.  His just works.
The loading screen is awesome.  The visual style/HUD/interface in general looks really compelling.

I'm really likin' the looks of the white fro'd child (girl?) with the sword.  This game is going to be ridiculous and fun.

Are we watching the same trailer? Which part was the loading screen? I don't recall seeing one (or was it that well integrated? ).

Yeah, Shinobu--high school student by day, elite assassin by night. She's kicking a** in that trailer. I hope she's not just some minor boss character, because everything about her is so interesting.

It's right before the Destroyman scenes, after the main character gets off his bike and "DESTROYMAN" appears on the ground.

I have very low expectations of this game all because of Killer 7. ::Puts up flame shield::

I don't understand.  This game apparently has completely different gameplay from Killer 7.

I agree, Killer 7 was so good that I just can't imagine Suda ever topping it. Looks like this has a great chance though!

This game looks incredible. The best part for me, was within about 10 seconds of the video, the guy slices someone in half vertically, Kung Lao MK2 style.

Is there a larger version of this trailer? gamevideos or wherever that link led to has a postage stamp sized video.

Problem is, if Travis is indeed on a quest to kill the top 10 killers in the world and she is one of them, then she'll have to die at some point in the game, unless Travis can somehow force her to concede her place in the top 10.

It's okay if there are people who didn't like Killer 7. Awesome isn't for everyone.

Well if awesome is defined as a game that has style over much, if any substance, I'll agree.

I haven't finished K7. I own it, liked what I played of it, but just like FE:PoR, I haven't gone back to finish it yet.

Sigh...

So, I'm wondering about the fighting system. Is it straight up waggle action? Is it button presses style like Shenmue? Is it action RPG style like KOTOR?

I think it was explained in an interview a while ago that the remote's position dictated stance and the A button was used to attack.

That trailer rocked, I'm really looking forward to the release of this game. I'm just hoping the game doesn't become too tedious, and has enough variation in the actions/locales to keep it fresh from beginning to end. I think Suda51 at some point said it had a GTA type structure which at this point has been overused and could be a mark against the game if done wrong.

I don't think GTA type structures have been overused. We're not saying that linear game design is overused and that has literally thousands of games using it.
