So the reason I shouldn't be upset is because something else is messed up worse?  Like I said before, both issues need to be fixed.

As Ian said, memory should be the only limitation to something like that.  We didn't stress out before launch because we thought the SD card would be great.  2 Gigs is a ton of space.  I would not be complaining if the only bottleneck was me filling up 2 gigs of space with games.  Then I would just swap between cards and be happy as I wanted to play games.

I don't know how else to explain the issue to you.  I'm sorry you don't understand it yet.

You can and probably will. My guess, after this you'll probably move onto why the Wii should have a better name, better graphics, HiDef, or 5.1 and optical out, how it should cook you dinner and massage you feet. In short, it doesn't do a lot of things you want. But you know what, that's just too bad. It's unfortunate, but Nintendo can't please everyone. When has anyone?

Man, I just read this part.  I thought it was part of your signature.  Please read the forums more and understand a bit about me before you make generalizations.  I'm sure tons of people here can tell you that I'm usually behind Nintendo and defending their decisions.  This is just a glaring oversight that CAN be fixed, therefore I think it is important that as many people know about it as possible.

I totally back Pale up on this. Swapping back and forth to the SD card is completely unnecessary as are the restrictions. Just because you (31 Flavas) don't see a reason to fill up 40 channels doesn't mean somebody else won't. Making it out like wanting a better working system makes someone a complainer is flat out wrong. It just means that they have located a serious design issue that they feel needs to be addressed, and doesn't necessarily imply they have issues with any other part of the system.

According to your theory, it must be useless to patch things to add functionality. The system and Virtual Console were designed to be easy to use and easily accessible. By making it so you have to swap files back and forth to the SD card makes the VC much less accessible, and quite frankly, kind of annoying. Try and put yourself in someone elses shoes and understand that their concerns are different than yours. I own 0 VC games, but still see Pale's point.

"Look i'd like to show off all my DVD, Video game, and CD boxes but I just don't have the space in my little university dorm room (I have close to 500). So I have to show off a few of them and keep the rest in storage."

What if I also have 500 DVDs/games/CDs but own a house with enough room to show them off?  Should I have to adere to the same restriction as someone in a dorm?  The SD cards are like additions to a house.  If I buy more SD cards I add more rooms to my house and thus should be able to fill them if I want to.

Yes so imagine what'll happen when you have 48 channels, no rearranging available.

I agree 100% with what Pale is saying. I'm surprised Nintendo have tied their own hands like they've done with this totally artificial limit.

The point isn't that more channels shouldn't be added or that "sub-channels" shouldn't be introduced. It's that I doubt even 10% of Wii owners will ever fill their channels. So why, should Nintendo spend time on problem a few people are having, when you have a completely viable option (i.e. swapping out games on to SD) already?

To put it another way: Should new local, state, or federal laws be passed to enforce the ESRB ratings when parents already have a perfectly viable option to keep their kids safe? That being reading the rating assigned to the game and then monitoring their children's playing of said game. Of course not! So why then is it such a problem? The parents want to be just as lazy as you want to be with not copying VC games back and forth.

You just want someone else to solve your non-issue of a problem. In other words, your bitching.

Oooo geez, i'm not going with the "Gamer Flow", I must be wearing rose colored glasses or part of the Nintendo Defense Force. Whatever. You're wearing your own pair of blinders.

No. I think that people are annoyed because this limit was put in place by Nintendo when there doesn't appear to be any good reason why it has been implemented. If you know of one decent reason please let us all know.

10% of 4,000,000 Wiis is 400,000 people. Sell 15 million Wiis and that's a million and a half people. That's a LOT. It's a lot more when you consider that they're the alpha-buyers and you never want to peeve off the alpha-buyers. If there's one group of people you always want to keep happy it's the people who buy the most from you. Considering that people who fill their channels must buy a LOT, then making them happy is just good business.

I'm sure Nintendo will upgrade this eventually. Hopefully sooner than later.

I'm sorry, but you can not impress the girls by showing them how many VC games you own. But, you can probably impress them by playing Wii Sports with them.

Before I knew any better, I always thought the VC would be a channel itself, and the games would be subchannels in it. Maybe Nintendo will make it like this later on. But the SD swap really isn't that big of a deal. How on earth can you have 40 VC games that you're playing at the same time? You'd only need to swap them once in a while..

Honestly, my guess is that since a TV only has discrete channels (no sub channels), that that would be the reason why VC games are independent channels.

Yea. I mean I can totally get the vanity side of it. Wanting to be able to show off all your games. But there are better things to be "extremely frustrated" at (like actual game bugs, red rings of death, or demo discs that format your PS2 memory card) then having to chose what 40 VC games to have on display / play.

Besides, I thought the collective gamer hive mind determined that VC games are _way_ over priced... What's with buying all these VC games?

Stay on topic. I am not looking forward to the Ginny/Dean pairing being depicted in the movies at all, and hope (know) that Ron/Hermione finally gets it going on by June of 07. So let's just drop it.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like BG&E more than a little? I found it to be pretty standard fare. The title is silly for the game, too.

I found BG&E refreshing, though it's kind of like Eternal Darkness...I liked it, it's considered underrated by the overall gaming community, but the few people who did play them are beginning to make it overrated.  Kind of like, we keep saying the game is great, but only the people who already played it understand, and the rest of the world isn't budging, not taking the effort to find and play the game, so we get tired of hearing ourselves preaching to the choir, as it were.
