Sweet! Animal Crossing is over a million in Japan!
Carmine Red, Associate Editor

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

And yet I still haven't been able to find anyone from Japan so I can get the Japan-exclusive items. Is the language barrier too much to handle?

Wait, so the November chart includes only 3 of the 4 weeks in November, and a week in October? That's as bad as NPD.

I don't think that simply having a Japanese Wii is enough, as the person would also need access to the Japanese online service. Unless somebody wants to step in here and confirm that to be untrue, it is what I think.

I figured that hooking up a Japanese Wii with a Japanese copy of ACCF anywhere would work. I doubt the game was made to detect where in the world you are.

I don't think it is the game which detects where you are, it is Nintendo's servers. So it wouldn't matter what kind of Wii you have or which version of the game you have, if you are in North America then you connect to North American servers and get North American items.

That was my understanding, but I'll have a look around elsewhere.

No, it's based on which version of the game you have. If you have the Japanese copy, you will get the Japanese items (at least that is how it works for people in Japan playing with a North American copy of the game). This is also how it works for other games, it will connect online to the region of the version you have.

Where are you getting your information?  Joystiq is using two separate trackers and both state that MW2 for 360 has been on the top of the box office in the UK for 7 straight weeks.

Joystiq

EDIT:Actually, I think I figured it out.  The links for Joystiq are combining all versions of each game instead of individual consoles.

Yep, Chart Track has 2 separate tracking formats for overall sales. One is for individual versions, the other is combining every version of a game (which is useless since that also includes DS/PSP/PC versions along with every console version_.
