How quickly do your emails get to your wii?
« on: November 19, 2006, 10:56:07 AM »
I have sent a few emails to my wii now and have yet to recieve any of them.  Right now it is stand by mode, and apparentely you should see the blue light come on when you have an email.  Is it pop3 where I have to tell it to check?

I received my text-only e-mails pretty quickly. I sent another about 2 hours where I attached two photos (one small, one pretty large) and have not received it. My guess is that my large image was too large and Nintendo just dropped the message. There could also be some server issues.
Thanks for listening.

My first message appears to have taken about 20 minutes.  I just registered a wii with someone have yet to recieve their request.  I haven't recieved my other messages just yet but at least I got one message.

I would expect some server issues mostly due to high demand but I am still an impatient boy.  Oh well, this is probably a topic worth discussing to see what other people are incountering.

I just did a test message (PC to Wii) and it took one minute for it to show up. During this time, my Wii was idle on the message board screen. Keep in mind that the Wii has to periodically check Nintendo's servers for new messages. The system will not receive a message until the next time it checks the server (every x minutes).

Edit: Wii to PC is taking quite some time (for both of my e-mail addresses). I suspect that Nintendo is having trouble with the servers that handle outgoing mail (e.g., SMTP).
Thanks for listening.
