Wii Offline : (
« on: November 19, 2006, 08:37:03 AM »
Am i the only one?  My Wii seems to keep getting a 110213 error code when it tries to update the WiiConnect24 thing.  I've heard people have already downloaded retro games and sadly I can't access it because of this.  I attempted Nintendo's website for the error code but the page doesn't seem to respond to my error code.

Anyone else have a similar experience or have any suggestions?

I had an error on one of the "system updates". Restarted the system, and the update worked correctly. I would imagine Nintendo's servers are getting hit pretty hard right now.

51300 - 51399 errors here. Wii picks up my router, but testing always fails. None of the online solutions have helped me at all.

That sort of thing is pretty common when something's just started. Give it a month before online's running really smooth.

I've updated my firmware, taken off my routers turbo mode and super G mode, everything works except it seems like its just the WiiConnect24 thing is not working for me.

pretty sure wiiconnect24 is the back bone for the email and stuff and it's not fully operational yet, it's why your emails take so long to send or recv, or dont arrive at all.

but will they fix it? this is nintendo after all. they are not an ISP they are a games company.

I was having the same problem.  I changed the channel on my wireless router from its default (6), to 11.  Nintendo itself recommends either setting it to channel 1 or 11 according to their support website.  I have already downloaded Sonic and Mario 64, and loving it.  Hope that helps.

Oh, and by the by, Nintendo's call center is closed for the night...so better get in there early tomorrow before they're swamped again.

Crap. I just posted about this in the WiFi Support area.

I guess I'll just call tomorrow morning. I'm betting that if you have a credit card on file, that they'll ship you a new system before you have to send in your old one. Just a guess, but I think that's how it generally works.

Does this mean that my Zelda progress is lost? If I back it up to an SD card, it won't transfer the crapness of this one, will it? I wouldn't think so, but it's all guesswork at this point.

Nintendo, why?!?!?!

It's supposedly a hardware issue, so it shouldn't transfer the problem, but it doesn't seem to matter. I have formatted my Wii like five times and it seems I can't move my Zelda save back to it from my SD card. I have no idea why, but I have to say this is tarnishing my otherwise awesome Wii experience.

I agree about the credit card thing though. I better as hell be able to keep this Wii while they send me a brand spanking new one in 8-10 days. We'll see.

Nein, nein, nein, nein, nein!!

That's fourty-five.

The only problem I had was getting my new router to be reconized while I was setting up the conection, that my our puppy deciding to pee on the surge protector right after the first update finished. (Thankfully it  only destroyed the surge protector.) And this is just a side comment about the SD cards yes they didn't become availble until after the updates.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

I successfully updated, successfully shopped, successfully bought Sonic...played it... then my Wii wouldn't let me shop some more!

I'm hoping this is just a temporary thing because now my brother is setting up his Wii and we unplugged mine for now.

Well all my internet setting for Wii is perfectly fine and I can download VC and I sent an email from my Wii to my personal email address and everything works fine. And my Wiiconnect24 is always fine so my system light is yellow/amber when its "off"

Hey,

I can verify now that a 110213 error code means you must get a repair or exchange for the Wii console. Call Nintendo's main service line 1-800-255-3700 and let them know. If you give a credit card as collateral they will do an "advance exchange" where they send you a new system and you keep your old one until you get it. Then you simply send in the old one in the same box. Good luck to everyone who has been having this issue.

I was getting this same error message yesterday.  It turned out I was using the wrong password.  I entered in what I thought was my 26-digit WEP key and it took it but it couldn't connect to the Internet with it.  Eventually I figured out I was using the wrong password and it worked just fine once I changed it.

maybe this should be a new topic, but if my wii goes dormant from idle time, and i come back and wake it up, then try to load the disc channel (Zelda specifically) it just freezes with a black screen and can't power it off from the controller, i have to either hold down the console's power button or unplug it.

kinda makes me wish they just gave us the firmware disc.  I wonder which would cost them more the disc manufacturing or the shipping, replacing, and reparing of systems?

Nup, wouldn't work- the hardcore gamers would run around in a panick, wondering how the time machine from the early nineties got placed in their wii box.
