Some Wii FAQ-ish stuff.

Where do I find my "Friend Code"?

Finding your "Friend Code" (called your Wii Number) is kinda difficult if you aren't looking everywhere for it.  First, go to the Wii Message board by hitting the small icon on the bottom, right hand corner of the main menu that looks like an envelope. Next, hit the icon that looks like a pencil and a piece of paper on the bottom, left hand corner, the "Create Message" Icon.  Now, click on the third picture in the middle row, the "Address Book".  This page should show your Wii Number.  If it doesn't, try hitting the blue arrow on the left hand side of the screen.

Okay, I've got my Wii Number, now what?
Well, you have to give it to someone else. Try Here.  You have to add them and they have to add you.

How do I add someone?
Follow the directions above to get back into your Wii's Address Book.  Click Register on the bottom, right hand corner.  Key in their Wii Number and a Nickname.  Skip the Mii part, you'll want to do that later.

I've added them and they've added me, but it won't let us send messages.  What now?
Wait.  I'm not sure what the exact process is here (perhaps someone who's read the manual will know).  I think if both people turn their system on and off again, it might do the trick.  But it won't make the connection immedatly - just give it a bit of time.

My friend wants to add my Mii to my profile, how do I send it to them?
Once both Wii recognize that you've added each others Mii code, you'll be able to send messages and such back and forth.  At this point, you can send a copy of your Mii to the your friend's Wii.  Not only will this make your Mii appear by your name on their Wii, but occasionally, your Mii might show up in their games (well, Wii Sports, for now).

Go into the Mii Channel. On the right hand side, you'll see an Icon that looks like an envelope and reads "Wii Friend" - click that.  Now, click on the Mii you want to send - hold down the A button, then click the B button and drag the Mii into the envelop on the top if the screen.  A list of friends who's Wii's you have registered will appear - select the Wii you want to send your Mii to.

My Mii has walked off the screen!  What do I do?
Click the Whistle to make all the Mii line up.  You can click and drag them from here.

Okay, my friend says they've transfered their Mii to me but I don't see it!  What do I do now?
Your friend's Mii should be loaded next time you log into the Mii Channel.  If not, try this: Go to the main Mii page.  On the upper, right hand corner is the Mii Parade button.  Click that.  This will start the Mii Parade.  Now click and drag (A+B) any Mii that you wish to transfer to the icon on the upper, left hand side of the screen.  That Mii will be transfered to your Wii console.

Okay, so I've got my friend's Mii, what now?
Well, the Mii will walk around on the Mii Channel.  Also, they'll show up in games that use the Mii's.  Finally, go back to your Wii Address Book, Click your friend's name and click the icon on the top, left hand corner that says "Mii". You can now assign their Mii to their name, copy it to your Wii Controller or send the Mii to another friend.

This is all good information.

I couldn't for the life of me find my Wii number.  I eventaully gave up and had to PM Smash_Bro.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

How humiliating!

Good info, Bob!

I got your Mii and one named Leigh from you. Who is that? I ask because people keep asking me who all these other Miis are...
"OK, first we need someone to complain about something trivial. Golden or S_B should do. Then we get someone to defend the game, like Bill or Mashiro. Finally add some Unclebob or Pro666 randomness and the thread should go to hell right away." -Pap64

I also found this helpful in finding my Wii number. I would select the address book, it would breifly show, then turn to the next page. Come back, Wii number, come back!
Thanks for listening.
