Has it really been that long? I think you should've gotten an error code my now. I can't imagine that it should be hanging on the update page for that long, regardless of the circumstances.

My Wii is having problems updating as well. Error code 32004. Nintendo's website says thusly:

Updated mine here in Cali at about 10pm...went reeeaaaallll smooooth. It didn't seem very long at all. And it gave my aching arms a rest from crazy bouts of 4-player tennis with my cousins.

Well you're lucky you can even get online!  I tried connecting through my WiFi Connector with a massive failure!

I was updating really slow as well. I changed my wireless channel from 6 to 11, it sped up considerably. Linksys wireless G router here.

I take this back. It finally started to work for me, and, after an hour, it was only half done, according to the progress bar. Then it stopped and I got an error code.
