Elebits Will Release in December

Game was never delayed, rather is being released in the "launch window."

After IGN reported that Elebits was delayed until December, we contacted a Konami rep to get the details. He told us that the game has always been planned for the "launch window" and those plans have not changed - terming this as a delay was incorrect, and IGN has since updated their news story. The Konami rep also stressed to us that this does not contradict the inclusion of Elebits in thelist of launch games given by Nintendo in a press release. Rather, as the press release indicates, this is a list of "launch window" games, meaning those without firm release dates may be released next to Elebits in mid-December, later than expected.

It was, it had been confirmed as a launch day title. I think they are just trying not to look bad by admitting a delay.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons for the delay is to fix th game further. Konami has been hyping this game as something "magical" on the Wii, yet the impressions say otherwise.

Which is sad because its not like Elebits will make or break the console, so the "hype" is rather silly.

Hey guys, do my homework for me: find a link (on PGC or elsewhere) that shows Konami stating Elebits was a launch day game. I would love to update the news story with that.

Well, in an E3 interview they said "launch", though IGN admits there was a translator involved, so we don't know exact the translation was. Gamespot was told "by or around the time of the Wii's launch".

It looks like everyone outside Konami assumed it was a launch title, while in reality it had a more fluid release date.

A delay is probably for the best, anyway. It'll give people's wallets a chance to refill a little after the launch frenzy.
