I guess this is kind of a poll, but who's keeping their Cube when they get a Wii and who's selling? And if you're selling, how do you plan on selling in order to get the best possible price?

Personally, I'm keeping my GameCube - It's the first console I got at launch and couldn't fathom selling it for the nothing price I'd get out of it. That, along with my GameBoy Player (which is the main way I play GBA games) and actually having a broadband adapter, I think I'll still get some use out of it. In fact, since they'll probably go for cheap, and since my other plans to get a second GCN failed, I'll probably try to find me a second one for multi-player GBA Four Swords, GBA connectivity titles and something to put my second Broadband adapter into...

My GameCube's drive died, but I might keep it anyway since I still even have my SNES and N64.

A sentimental thing.

The component cable and GB Player still work. I'm gonna eBay them. They go for good money on there.

I'll also ebay a bunch of GCN and GBA games too while I'm at it.

I haven't decided yet, I don't want to give it away just like that anyway and I want to give it some afterlife purpose, and I also have the component cables...hmmm I really don't know. Most likely I will just put it back in the box and keep it with all my other boxed stuff.

It's nice to purge once in awhile. Especially when you pay per the pound to move across the country.

Selling:
• Gamecube + Player + 1 controller (gotta keep a couple for the docking station on the Wii!) + all cables and some games...
• SNES plus all its games (including some pretty good complete (boxes, manuals, maps, etc.) ones) and controllers and cables.
• A bunch of DS games.

I'm gonna sell it all at once to hit the "View Seller's Other Items" clickers. Plus, I combine shipping

I'm gonna keep mine in the bedroom, since the room really isnt big enough for Wii-motion. That's going on my big TV in the den.

I keep everything. The Wii will just be added to the systems I have collected over the years.

My setup is the same as UncleBob, except I don't have the mobile monitor... *glare*... So I'll finally have the second Cube to play Mario Double Dash Lan on.

I'm keeping mine for the Gas Boy Player, the Freeloader (I bet using that on Wii will cause an implosion) and the fact that I'd get around three cents for it anyway.

Traded my cube and a bunch of games for credit at my local Gamestation + pre ordered Wii nearly a month ago. Got enough for Cube that Wii will be pretty much free. Yippie. Still not sure what games to get - launch line up doesn't really excite me yet.

Ahh, but my cunning plan is to wait six months and then buy the games (and Cube if need be) back for less than the trade in I got for them when they're reduced to clear

I'll be keeping my two cubes, mainly for GB player and freeloader functionality. (And coz I could never bear to part with it like I did my SNES - something I still regret)

I'm torn.
I too own every console Nintendo has ever made including the damn Virtual Boy. Granted half of them are in pretty poor condition and a couple simply don't fuction. But the sentimental value makes it hard to part with them. On the other hand with the Wii and its backwards compatability and virtual console there's probably no practical reason to keep them and I am considering a cross-country move so I'm better minimalizing my material possessions.
So I'm considering selling the whole load (maybe minus the VB) on eBay.

Yes. I own a major version of all. Except for some of the game watches. (I have Tetris and Mario 3 in those, though they don't work.)

Yeah - that was a mistake. I lent mine to a friend when I was drunk and when I finally came around, he'd moved to Australia with it (it took me a while to come around...)

Still - holding out high hopes for VC - I miss Starfox, Gradius, R-Type, ...

The only time I sold some old Nintendo stuff was when I sold a few Super NES games, including Super Metroid. Yeah, that was regretful.

Since I'm pretty confident that the Wii's backwards compatibility is pretty sound, there's no functional reason to keep my GameCube, true...but unless I get much for it, I probably won't.

Still, it would be nice to spread some GameCube love and it may help to sell it. Or I could lend it out. After the PS2 came out, it wasn't too hard to borrow a friend's PlayStation to play Final Fantasy IX (I'd played VII and VIII on the PC so it was nice to finish off the third FF trilogy without having to buy a PSX) as well as a few other games, so by lending out my GameCube to people who never considered one, it may be of benefit to getting some Nintendo converts...or at least to make them more accepting of Nintendo.

I can't believe so many people are keeping their cubes. I can understand keeping the snes and other stuff but with the backwards compatibility of the Wii the gamecube becomes a giant paperweight.

Yep, I've got every system since the NES, including the differnt revisions of each GameBoy. I even have a Game & Watch unit.

Well, the Freeloader and Game Boy Player may not work with the Wii..
