What is the point behind the one eye stone that stares into your mind... I mean, is the time of the day really that  important, cuz in OOT it's either day or it's night, and you know when it changes by the sounds made (the rooster, and the... I don't remember the other one).

That has been bothering me for a while, I guess they just don't seem too useful to me, or I'm really missing something?.

when you get the mask of truth from playing the mask salesman job all the way through, the one eyed statues become more relevant if you talk to one while wearing the mask.

The only problem with the mask is that if you bother to find all the buyers for the other ones and then you want to talk to one of the one-eyed stones then you will be very dissapointed when it will probably tell you some useless sh*t that you dont need like "Malon of the ranch is waiting for her knight in shining armor to sweep her off her feet" or something like that. Wait a minute why do I remember that OH NO theyve brain washed me and filled my mind with useless cr*p AAAAAHHH!!!   ::runs into a wall::.

If you talk to them wearing the mask of truth, they reveal little secrets about things. Kinda useless, but cool to find out nonetheless. Just something to occupy your time. If you strike them with a sword, they'll tell you the time. If you hit them with your hammer, you can flatten them. And if you place a bomb next to one, it'll take off like a rocket.
