Nana's everyday life

No, it's not a big display of certain body parts but I certainly felt worse after reading that than after seeing Goatse for the first time. If you don't get some part of it, look Elfen Lied up on Wikipedia, that tells you enough to understand this.

Elfen Lied is cheap and tacky, full of fanservice show. Its so damn lame, not only it goes again into the oversused cliche of "who are the real monsters?, humans or the psycho tentacle monsters we japanese mangaka create?" which happens in every single damn manga of this style Ive read, it goes as far as to satisfy every fetish of the otaku: loli (borderline pedophilia)? checked; harem anime (looser guy surrounded by unnaturally big breasted teens)? checked; neko-mimi a.k.a girls with cat ears (again borderline zoophylia, and LOL to the lame excuse that they are "horns"), checked; over the top violence with unrealistic ammounts of blood flowing around? checked AGAIN! urgh...

I can't believe the anime community has this show in such a high regard, because its all for the wrong reasons. The story is really stupid, the characters couldn't be more predictable and stereotyped, its like the creator made ther objective to mix together every single aspect of anime and manga that sucks, and in the way remove the parts that make it good.

I recommend manga and anime like Monster, Death Note or even Narutaru a million times over this stupid crappy series, this is the kind of show that give anime enthusiasts a bad name.

Last I checked suspension of clichee-perception is necessary to enjoy any story that comes out of Japan (anime as well as RailPG and such). Just makes the spoofs so much more hilarious since they can spoof like ten series per scene.

I never watched Elfen Lied, I checked its wikipedia, and I read "Nana's everyday life".
I still don't see how you could compare it to something so gruesome as goatse.
To compare it to some other cheap manga/anime/movie/tv-show would be logical, but to goatse?! That's just twisted.

Check Monster... like, right now! it even happens in Germany, and Ive read that its very faithful in its description of the country.

Goatse is disgusting and leaves you shocked for a few minutes, this is horrifying and leaves you shocked for much longer. Of course it doesn't compare to Holocaust witness reports but that's mostly because it's not real. Eh, maybe I overreacted.
