He doesn't have to leave anything. Sega just decided to use him for their Brain Age because their last one failed horribly for the PSP. They're gonna pay him money, and he's going to share his research with them in a consultancy role and let them use his name and likeness.

Wow that site is enraging.  I need to find whatever joystiq employee had the bright idea of starting "-fanboy.com" sites and strangle that person.

At any rate, the "loss" of Kawashima is not going to matter, because DS already has the Brain Age.  Whatever Sony comes up with will just look like an attempt to be as cool as Nintendo.

Just like Killer Instinct was an attempt to be as cool as Mortal Kombat, Eternal Darkness was an attempt to be as cool as Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was an attempt to be as cool as Metal Gear Solid 2.  I'm not saying which of those games is better or worse than the other, I'm saying that copying popular ideas is not the best way to change the image/popularity of your product.
That's my opinion, not yours.

How would one even do a Brain Age type game on PSP and its non touchscreen interface? Write numbers with the analog nub? *shudders at the thought*

As Kairon said, SEGA already plagiarised with one PSP Brain game, which failed miserably, of course.. Somehow, I don't think this will do much better.

Who is going to want to play a non-game on a handheld with no touchscreen support?

Sega should release this for a handheld people actually buy games for. You know, the one which is the market leader.

If I were some leet haxxor I'd be making that site redirect to Nintendo.com about now.

Worst site ever. A support group for Sony famboys that can't believe their system is a failure.

but it a win for Dr. Kawashima, since no matter how few (or many) copies this game sells he gets the endorsement cash.

I didn't even think about that, how would Brain Age work on a PSP.....I bet anyone dumb enough to buy the PSP wannabe version would stupidily attempt to tap the PSP screen, and yell "blue" a lot more than we ever have...

Wow, that site is the biggest joke i've ever seen.

It doesn't even say anything in the 'article' about Dr Kawashima.

Isn't this just the Sega Brain Game released a million years ago in Japan coming out in English? This is non-news.

2. HA! TAKE THAT DS FANBOYS!
Quote

This is so awesome. The thing I love most about the PSP is that nobody wants to make it more like the DS at all.
Quote

Now lets hear it from the DS fanboys"it was teh touch screen that make the game fun otherwise is a pain in the ass" OH wait thats from kotaku lol,Kotaku sucks ass.

Yet Ds fanboys think nintendo invented brain age and pet sims.yeah they are dumb.

Also notice that Brain age is an old game that appeared in devices like the tetris ones you see on radioshack or airports years ago before it appear on the ds.

Anyway i think the interface its preety dull and i have played all this stuff before on activity books of 3$ that included test way more challenging than those and way more superior to any crappy ds game.
Quote

On topic, I think the 'game' looks incredibly dull, like the DS version. Why not just sell a mini chalkboard and some nifty math homework? But hey, it sells. Nevermind the stack of Brain games about two feet high in the used section of my local EB Games.
Quote

But i agree ,the interface looks dull,i mean PSP can generate graphics that looks as good as the ps2,whassup with that Sega, ubisoft?.

All of those quotes came from the actual PSP Fanboy page.

Thanks for listening.
