I was talking to a person at the computer shop I drop my new computer off at to get it finished. (I can't figure out why it resetting before the DMI) But we were shootting the breeze and it seems AMD has a little "surprise" lined up. After it and Intel releases their repective quad-core chips, AMD has a special release lined up for a "few" months after that. It seems they have finished their Octacore chips (Eight core), and want to leap frog Intel. We were talking about this because of my set up which was a duel duel-core Opteron (AMD's server CPU series). I put the computer together because I have finally learned enough to create reasonably put together 2D games.
On a side note I first misheard and thought he said Opti-core, which got me excited about someone finally making a cusumer feasible holographic based core CPU.
