The rabbids have taken over the world. Rayman is made to dance and do other various activities to entertain and please his Rabbid Overlords. Eventually, as per Gladiator, Rayman becomes popular through all these activities and can challenge the Rabbids for freedom of the entire world.

yah, even the developers compared the story to gladiator.

The part where you shoot rabbits is called "rabbits can't shoot westerns" so maby rayman has to play a sherrif while rabbits pretend to be criminals.

Also when you say "random minigames" I ask: since when are sets of minigames not random?
