Topic: More powerful?

Hey everyone, hope someone can help me out here.  My friend and I were having a discussion on how powerful the game consoles are.  He keeps telling me he wants a PS3 because it will be the most powerful with the best graphics.  At the same time, he has a PS2 and not a GCN or Xbox.  I tell him it's hypocritical of him to say he wants a PS3 because of the graphics and prefer a PS2 over a GCN or Xbox.

Get this, he tells me the PS2 and Xbox are equal in power and graphics.  IF the Xbox was better in any way, it would be very minimal.  He says that there is "NO WAY IN HELL" that the GameCube has more power and has better graphics (even though he has never played it) than the PS2.

So I was just curious, am I wrong?  Does the PS2 have more power?  I do know the graphics are better in the Nintendo because I've played both systems (same game).  

Hope you guys can help, got 20 bucks on line on this.

Wow, I asked the same thing at the playstation forums and the thread was immediately locked.  I even worded it to be somewhat pro Sony so they wouldn't bash me.  It was just a simple question I was curious about.  Those Sony guys are really something.

So I was right then, right?  GCN is slightly more powerful with better graphics, right?

Introduce your friend to an XBox fanboy and he can provide a good second opinion on the PS2's faults.

Yes, the ps2 is way weaker than the xbox or GC and is more like the dreamcast in term of power. The xbox dose has a faster cpu than the GC, but the GC has faster ram that make up for it and they are little to non loading screen to all of the GC's games unlike the massive loading in most of ps2's games. Also if you want to prove it, see RE4 for the cube and then see how much wrost it is on the ps2.
