His trolling was just pathetic. He was trying to aim for humor, but instead he ended up being annoying.

Also, TP was OoT 2.0, the next sequel could end up being OoT 2.1  :(

I'm still waiting for some of you tyo respond directly to this.

'''The context of the quote is iffy, but Miyamoto is purportedly quoted as saying of the next Wii Zelda: "I don't think it's going to be that radically different." '

You think we'll get similar locals and weapons with different controls? I'm just surprised Miyamoto could have possibly said something like this.

The context of the quote is iffy, but Miyamoto is purportedly quoted as saying of the next Wii Zelda: "I don't think it's going to be that radically different.

A while back Miyamoto said the exact opposite, that Twilight Princess may be the last Zelda of its kind or something like that.  We all inferred that to mean that the next Zelda would be significantly different and debate raged on about whether this change would be for better or worse.

With this quote perhaps he has changed his mind or perhaps he wanted to de-emphasize the element of change as Zelda fans took his previous comment and ran off with it, and we feels that we're expecting too big of a change and he has to bring us back down.  He doesn't want us to think he promised this incredibly new and innovative Zelda when in reality the plan was never that ambitious.

This is the opposite rule in action. If Nintendo comments on something more than 6-8 months in advance, they are saying the opposite of the truth.

It doesn't matter how different the next Zelda ends up being, there is going to be one group or another who disapproves of it. Majora's Mask was quite different and the game was not received very well. Twilight Princess was (apparently) similar to Ocarina of Time, and there were complaints it was too similar. Or hey, how about Zelda II? Before Zelda even WAS an established franchise people complained about the sequel being too different! Seems like people want it be totally different although still exactly the same...

So the developers of the game should just do whatever THEY want to do and stop listening to the fans, because they don't really know what they want and will probably end up buying it no matter how it turns out.

That's exactly what we want. Something completely new and different, yet very familiar and recognizable.
Like Mario Galaxy to Mario64 and not more of the same with a lame new gimmick like Mario Sunshine to Mario64

But that was oxymoronic. Something can't be new AND the same. Super Mario Galaxy wasn't completely new, it borrowed a lot of elements from the previous two games and added some new ones as well. And some people still didn't like it, just as some people aren't going to like this new Zelda, either. My point was, Nintendo can't please everyone, and so they should just make the game THEY want to make.

We want to recognize it as Zelda, but we want something fresh. I want surprises. TP did it a little. Majora did it a lot.

I told a friend once that Yoshiaki Koizumi put more into the Zelda franchise then Aomura did.

EAD Tokyo should just develop the next Zelda game. Don't they have some of Flagship's old staff?

Nintendo stopped listening to their fans back when the GC came in last. Otherwise we wouldn't of gotten Wii's and instead we'd have a Gamecube 2 with no waggle and HD graphix POWA!
