Oh, I don't know...
I have so, so many strong reservations...
Should I go and perform mutilations?

How'd you like a Cadilac car?
Or a guest spot on Jack Paar?
How bout a date with Hedy Lamaar?
You're gonna get it.

Yay!  Points for Svevan!

I just picked this movie up on DVD at Wal*Mart for $4.88... It's about time I found it wild for less than $20...

When I was in High School, I played the Dentist in our production of the musical. That was a blast, brings back a ton of memories, although it was only about two and a half years ago...

Good movie too.

I *loved* this movie growing up.  So much that my mother arranged for our VHS copy to "disappear".

In High School, I ran across the CD soundtrack, by pure chance, at a CD store on a school fieldtrip.  I was thrilled.

Watching it now, it's still a great movie.  I'm really impressed with the set and the effects in this pre-CGI age.

Absolutely, plus the dark humor and storyline. It's even better on stage, let me tell you, and the ending is different. But the movie is a little bit more gruesome, which is great. I love any play or movie that adds a faux Greek Chorus to the setup, and this one pulls it off the best.

Funny, this was a childhood favorite of mine as well. It was a real (sappy I know) dream come true to get to be in a production of the stage show, even though it was a High School production.

I assume you know that they originally recorded the play's ending for the movie?  Test audiences *hated* it, so they went back, re-recorded and changed it to the happier ending.

Unfortunatly, the alternate ending isn't included on the DVD.  Originally, they released a special edition that included a very rough cut of the alternate ending, but, apparently, there was some issues with who owned the rights and they recalled the DVD (making it the first major DVD release to be recalled due to content, thus making it a collector's item that catches $100+ on eBay) and re-released the version without the alternate ending.

You can find the alternate ending on the internet though.

From what I've heard, there may soon be a Special Edition that does have this ending - where did I read that? Oh yeah, Wiki.

Re-reading that Wiki page, it's clear that in fact no such SE is planned. Oh well. I would much prefer to have the dark ending in the movie - test audiences be damned.

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.
