Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Playable Demo
« on: March 04, 2003, 10:32:49 AM »
I jsut went to Wal-mart to by some supplies I needed for a school art project, and I made my habitual stop by the electronics department, and they had a playable demo of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker!  I only had enough time to play it for a minute or two, but it looks great in action.  Anyway, I thought I should get the word out.  Go check your local stores; they may have the playable demo!

Damn you yanks.
We don't even have any hint that it's even coming to Australia.
But we do have to wait until May, so hopefully something turns up before then.
We're not even getting the bloody pre-order deal (yet)!

I haven't had the chance to actually play it.  But my friend has and he said it is incredible, which just makes March 24 seem all the further away...

Purposely avoiding it.  I want this to be every bit as beautiful as I hear the first time I play it in MY gamecube.

LOL yeah I know I keep on itching to go down to my closest store and play the demo.  I don't want to though.  It ruins from the original experience from the first time playing it in your home.  On a side note I remember playing Zelda OOT demo at Best Buy.  I didn't know what game it was or who the character was at first.  It took me a while but then I relised I was LINK LOL.

Heh.  I got to play it for the first time the other day.  I played the dungeon until I got stuck, then I tried sneaking around.  I wound up in the brig before long, got out, then the game reset.  I played the boss level next, and I whooped his ass.    It was very fun.

I’ve played it a couple times (on my first try against the demo’s boss, I beat him). It’s really fun, and the graphics are amazing. One cool little thing is that my local Software Etc. has hooked up the Zelda demo to a Wavebird. So now I can play Wind Waker wirelessly.

Is it just me, or am I the only one to realize that the demo's more then A YEAR OLD. I swear, it's the same one they showed at E3, Cube Club, now, and everything else in between that. I know that Nintendo doesn't want to ruin to much of it, but I wouldn't get too excited about the demo unless you've never touched the controller when WW's in the slot. I'm not complaining, and I shouldn't be too upset about it I guess. Just kind of funny how dated it is...

I am at 20+ hours on the femo in total.  And if anything, I am more excited.  The only spoiler is you see 1 boss and one level setup.  I just wanna say it really is beautiful.  I love the purple smoke the best.  But you have permision to play, and not ruin anything.  All you do is get a good feel of the controls.
