Ebay, what trick are they pulling?

I've seen these things on Ebay claiming that you can get a GC for $25. I know that this can't be real, so what word games are they playing? Is it a real GC? Is it legal? I know I must sound stupid even bringing something like this up, but I'm just wondering.

It a pyramid scam. Its basically you sell so many of these books that you get sold and you make money. Unfotunately its a little illegal.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

Yeah its a scam, im suprised Ebay allows it. Ebay strikes down stuff like porn, human beings, fraudulent bidders, people trying to get rich off tragedies like 9/11 and Colombia. Yet they arent against this.

Its because they user the other users to catch these types of people. I think if they get enough complaints they will shut them down. The problem is there are a lot of those users.

Actually, it's a list of wholesale distributors.  Part of the scam is that you pretend you're a store, then ask manufacturers for floor samples to see if you'd potentially carry their products.

I remember when the PS2 was first coming out. People were selling PS2 BOXES for over $600. Ebay even sells bongs and pipes. Never buy stuff off ebay it doesnt sound very reliable.

its reliable, and if something goes wrong then you aren't totally screwed because of all ebay's policies. a buddy of mine bought an xbox over ebay and didn't have any problems. you just have to be careful with what you buy, and make sure the other user has a good rating. i've seen those wholesale list things too i didnt know what they were but it's obviously not real.. i dont think i've seen any bidders on any of those
