You know I think the Wii girl doesn't look like she's ditzy in real life. I think she should have been a little less ditzy. The PS3 girl should have looked a little bit more cool or have at least a little bling.

I think this had a very funny premise that fell flat because of poor writing.

Either girls actually made interesting points that would want me to date either.
Or purchase…whatever.

I think if the Wii girl would have listed more activities that represent how to play the Wii then flash to girl sounding all smart about historical knowledge, amazing visuals, and an education only “daddy’s money could buy.” It would could have been better.

Then a line about “Just hold me and can promise you fun.”

“My vibration feature is cancelled.”

Then another Wii comment before the big PS3 emotional explosion. Perhaps: “Just try me once, and I promise you will be hooked.”

Wii not always being Ditzy would have helped seriously. Just shown that she was smart too. In fact the PS3 could have tried to be fun.

I laughed quite a bit when as I quickly realized what each line of dialogue referred to, but the more I think about it the more this piece of advertisement disturbs me.

I'm not going to share it with strangers because the issues of self-image, sexism, and politically-incorrectness that the clip's humor is based on could easily overpower any real content or enjoyment.

This could easily be an example of an ad you DON'T want to air (which is why the irreverent G4TV made it? not Nintendo). Just think of the black/white PSP ad. *shivers*

Frankly, I didn't care for it. How not to make an ad is defintely the right description for this. In fact, I came off liking the Playstation 3 more than the Wii. But maybe that was the point? Who can tell?

You have to remember that this is G4 and we can expect the average G4 viewer to be the same Joe-Madden-6-pack gamer.

I know it's a spoof ad, but all they'll remember after seeing it is that the Wii was attractive and the PS3 wasn't.

Also, Apple is guilty of this as well although not to the same extent, as one of their switch ads had the Mac communicating with a Japanese camera which was represented by an attractive Japanese girl while the PC couldn't speak the same language.

If nothing else, it indicates that Nintendo is receiving fanfare from sources which it didn't previously have to. How often has G4 openly supported Nintendo? I'm sure these are the same writers which mocked the "Lamecube" and now they're comparing Nintendo's next console to a sexy blonde.

Nintendo couldn't hope for much better than that.

I just seen it as well, and personally I found reading the stupid comments much more fun than watching the advertisement. It wasn't funny nor was it informative, it was well um, lame.

Like I said, Nintendo SUPPORT from G4 is about as common as their content being anything but trash (which this ad kinda demonstrates).

If the Wii is supported even by the Joe-six pack madden crowd, then it wins, period.
